Made a mission where a squad of OPFOR defended one of the smaller bases found on Stratis against two squads of BLUFOR. I stopped watching about 15 minutes later, as neither side had won at that point. When the attackers made contact, started to move very carefully. Instead of rushing into the base, they held up by the outer wall, and moved along the wall taking shots when they could to inside the base. The OPFOR took cover immediately, not as a squad, but everyone scattered around the base to find suitable cover to face towards the enemy. Later on, when things calmed, they even started moving outside the base, flanking the attackers. Again, not as a squad, but invidually. The automatic rifleman managed to flank and kill 3 of the attackers, two with his primary weapon and one with his sidearm as he ran out of ammo. :yeah: So, overall, I'm liking what I'm seeing. The AI doesnt just rush from behind the corner to be shot if it knows threat is nearby. The one on the left is moving. But the point is, in ArmA 2, they all would be standing
in the center of the base where I put the waypoint. In ArmA 3, it takes much longer for the AI to switch to "safe" posture. Also, the fighting took place inside the base, these guys are covering the rear after the base had been secured. :yep: |

Seems the AI has über-vision as usual. Played few missions with Crécy earlier and
we got our arses kicked. First because the AI can shoot off a fly's testicle from 200 meters on veteran and then because they can spot a crab on fly's testicle from 200 meters, at night, even on regular. :-? Also, the mission makers are all a-holes for not using respawns. *shakes fist* |
