How do these compare to the PC Demo? I realise the colour is a little off but that's due to the camera.

Well, if that's all it is, then I won't be buying it. I like a decent SP game, with MP an added bonus. MP only is for game makers that can't make a decent SP game or storyline. MP should be the addition, not the focus of a game like this. If it is the focus, then they should ditch SP alltogether since it would prevent people like me from coughing up cash for a product they don't want.

OK, general campaign time has been re-evaluated to around 6-8 hrs. Still quite short but it seems the original timing was from a very accomplished player who breezed through the game & cutting scenes just to see how fast it could be completed.

I'm starting to think that this game will be worth it after all. I'm sure I'll get at least 12 hours play on normal difficulty. I'm not that good.

This blog contains more screens (again from PS3)

I finished the single player campain tonight. Very good. A little short but very good. The AC-130 mission was my favorite!

NefariousKoel 11-06-07 12:54 AM

The only reason I've bought a shooter over the last 7+ years was for the multiplayer.

I never finished more than 1 or 2 missions - just to get the feel of it. Then I'm off to shoot at others. :smug:

This is on my wish-list.

I haven't had a chance to play the released version's multiplayer yet but I did play the Beta multiplayer. Let's just say you won't be disapointed.

I am with you here, Subman. I allready have 60+ hours in Medieval 2:Kingdoms, and haven`t really started yet. I know one cant expect that kind of length in a shooter, but 6-8 hours is too little.

NefariousKoel 11-09-07 12:45 AM

I'm grabbin' this one as soon as I rob a bank/free up some funds.

I happened to catch XPlay's full 30 minute show about COD4 and it looks like a blast in multiplayer not to mention the friggin graphics.

Dear God, this was one awsome singleplayer game. I'm very serious when I'm saying that I've never played a game that is as cinematic as this one, and that is a good thing btw...
The first mission, when you, as an SAS soldier is about to board a cargo ship out at sea during a big storm, is one of the coolest scenarios I've ever seen in an FPS.

Sound and voice acting: superb.

Story.....well, it's a little bit cheesy, but at some points, very surprising, and the end is wonderful. I've never been so satisfied but yet so sad before after an ending....

I ended up picking up a copy (Xbox 360 version) a few days ago. The SP campaign is well done and a very entertaining ride. MP is also a lot of fun, thanks to one of the many new modes of play, called "hardcore." I've definitely been pleasantly surprised by just how enjoyable this latest edition to the CoD franchise is, great stuff.

NefariousKoel 11-10-07 11:58 PM

I've played the first two SP missions so far and they are very immersive as you may suspect by past iterations (x2).

Too tired after working an extremely long day & night so I'll crack open some beers and check out the multiplayer tomorrow. I see that wargamer.com has a PC server up for it.

I love it! It has nice graphics, it runs great even on a bit older rig (AMD 64 3500+, GF8800GTS, 2gigs of DDR RAM), the levels are, as usual, great! Especially this one!!

My main complaint is the shortness of the SP, I played ACT I & II on Veteran and the ACT III on regular. Took me ~6 hours.
