A croatian motor boat would be in the same league with Delfinul i suppose... Sounds..uhm..exotic.

Take her on defensive patrols in rumanian home waters while the soviet fleet is holed up on the caucasus coast.
You can even participate in the only torpedo attack she ever made..
Can you hit the unescorted soviet merchant? Change history and sink it...
As a bonus, the two rumanian "super submarines" of 1944 might be included.
Lurk off the turkish coast while a huge battle is going on in the Crimea and change sides. Ward off a deadly depth charging by a croatian motor boat....

It's fine idea:D

I wouldn't mind seeing SH5 shift eras a bit, perhaps a hypothetical Cold War gone hot scenario, where the war is on the edge of full out nuclear and your actions and decisions could possibly avoid or trigger armageddon.

I'd love to see a surface ship sim done like SH3/4. Maybe not aircraft carriers but cruisers and DD's for sure. Maybe a big nasty WW1 sim but with 50 different Jutland style battles.

there is already one called Battlestations Midway ..... http://www.battlestations.net/

havent played it myself but it looks pretty awesome.

Hartmann 04-02-07 11:51 AM

A whole submarine WWII war... pacific/atlantic with the possibility of use scorts or perhaps surface units like battleships (destroyer command)

DJSatane 04-02-07 11:52 AM

Umm, if they never finish SH4 with patches then gl with SH5...

SH5 will be an Xbox360/PS3 title. Lots of great explosions, no TDC bugs (no TDC, either). Gran Tourismo on the Sea. No one will complain about the lack of Milkcows or fuel consumption issues, there will be plenty of floating powerups. Damage model improved from SH4, now your sub will flash red and make a coughing sound when its health is in jeapordy. Don't worry about finding any unused sound files or interface files from SH3, SH4 on the disk--you won’t be able to access the disk. And no "A key" crash, at last the keyboard has been taken out of the equation. If you are unhappy with SH4's manual salvo set-up, rejoice, SH5 will allow you to launch all 20 torpedoes at once, simply press L2-R1-O-X-^-X. Cloaking and other combo moves can be unlocked by warping from one arena to the next, sinking 200,000 tons per mission.

The sad thing is, this would probably be a best seller. :nope:

Why run? I like both, and would love to see SH3 brought up to SH4 standards, and beyond. And I am a big PTO fan.

Indeed, I think I'd mentioned before, I'd be happy paying full-price for a title that does just that. No real "game" itself, it just "merges" your Sh3 and Sh4 install into one, massive, game - using the updated Sh4 graphics (with FSAA and higher resolutions, of course).

Heck, I'd pay monthly for an MMO of that title. In fact, as it is sufficiently different from this thread, I just started one with that concept for discussion.

I'm sad to say I'm starting to have the same feeling, maybe I've overdosed on subs! One are I always wanted to see simed but never seen is fighting sail, not the dumb assed pirate jobs that pop up, but a fully fledged, realistic 16th, 17th, 18th AND 19th century naval sim.

Surely with the latest graphics abilities of most pcs a serious fighting sail naval sim could be put together, fighting as UK, France, Spain Dutch or independance US naval ships, with an option to turn pirate if required.

Has been a long time wish but never seems to happen, oh well we live in hope

If it's sub let it have guided torpedos (meaning: post WW2). Then again, we have Dangerous Waters for modern subs and I AVOID playing subs in DW preferring frigate, ASW helo or patrol aircraft.

PLEASE. NO. MORE. SUBS.

Cruisers. Destroyers. Aircraft carriers. TASK FORCES! Yea. Gimme! Me want!
