You wont see this with OH II only, but when you add some other large mod, like TDW New'UI or FXUpdate, that's when problem starts to kick in...

I'll see if i can reproduce it with the planes section here

If i find the time fpr it ill do a step for step install of all my used mods
to see when it starts to be unstable.

Do you get any message when your game CTD? It should be written in the middle of the screan just after game crash...

In all the ctd's I have ever had I always get dumped out to the Uplay grey screen that you see that gives you the time you played when you exit the game.

Yeah I'm getting the same Berbster. CTD (I think its time compression that's doing it - but I also get one occasionally when switching or opening torpedo tubes unless I switch with the button on the full dial next to the periscope - i.e. manually if you follow me).

CTD - no error message.

Hi tat

You have got some serious issues going on here.

You have a lot of incompatible, old and out of date mods.

You need to start again from scratch.

This can surprisingly be an enjoyable experience if you go about it in the right way.

Sober has an intensive mod list for the more demanding player who is looking for full immersion.

Mine is based on his but less demanding for the level of my expertise.

My ctd's happen in general play especially on the way to Kiel from Danzig even at TC1

I came in to Kiel straight down the middle at TC1. This escort crossed in front of me and then back again got a ctd.

The last time I did the Baltic Campaign is the first time I have not had a ctd in this mission.

Real Navigation does not seem to like the approach in to Kiel. I am on the right side of the channel keeping out of the way of the escort but my Navigator shows me on the left.

I save and load the game again and the Navigator correctly plots where I know I am. It is pitch dark, so I do not use Real Nav just stay on the bridge using TC1 and TC2 and using the marker buoys to guide me in. Mission completed no ctd..

I will go from Heligoland to Scapa at TC64 this is the fastest TC I use as with the AI you need to be capable of reacting to any enemy aircraft.

Thanks guys! I knew I had quite a few issues and outdated mods - downloaded most of them ages ago and transferred them to a new pc - and at the same time forgot which ones weren't needed because of other mods etc and could never be bothered to re-do it from scratch!

I'll give it a go later on today. Its added to my "to do" list along with power-washing the decking!!

I run SH5 with TWOS 1.04 fully patched to TWOS update n° 10. My pc is brand new and has no problem running much more demanding games then SH5.

Alas, I regularly get this particular CTD when I either enter the nav map or while the flottila commander is doing his speech within the bunker. I have yet to make it past "Coastal Mission" due to this particular CTD.

I will try disabling "Render patches" in TDW generic patcher and report back what I find out.

On a side note, TWOS is a brilliant mod!! :D

Still getting a CTD on the navigation map in game and during the mission selection speech.

Well, this is weird.

As stated in my posts up above, I have tried as mega mods both The Wolves of Steel (TWOS) and Wolves of the Deep.

I have two laptops that both run Windows 10 and have both been recently reformated, i.e a fresh Windows 10 install.

Laptop A runs an Intel Core i5 with a Geforce GTX 560M graphics card.

Laptop B runs an Intel Core I7 with a Geforce GTX 860M graphics card.

I downloaded SH5 from Gamersgate on both computers, updated them to version 1.2 then followed the instructions left by the mega mods authors.
SH5 with either mega mod starts on both computers without a problem, I can even start a patrol, usually Danzig Bay.
This is where it get's tricky.

On the older laptop, with the Geforce GTX 560M graphics card, SH5 runs perfectly.

On the newer laptop, with a more powerful Geforce GTX 860M card, everytime I open the navigation map, either on patrol or in the commander's briefing in port, I get a sound semi-freeze, and a complete crash, not a CTD, I literally have to manually restart the computer. :/\\!!

As per Vdr1981's original post up above, "CTD scenario 5", I have disabled Render Patches in the TDW Generic Patcher. Sadly, nothin' doing.

Must be some incompatibility somewhere. Any ideas anyone?

Hi Azkaltia

Check the settings between the 2 gpu's and see if they differ?

You could also try running the Debug Viewer from data\applications\ which might show you where the crash is occurring from.
