Do you guys and gals use Commander each time you start the game? And why for *first patrol*? Is this related to that weird career profile bug I read about somewhere?

edit: edited cause I saw the answer to one of my questions on the GMX site.

Yes, I use the SH3 Commander shortcut to load the game every time, first patrol or not. Every time.

The config files found here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=147567

...help SH3 Commander work correctly with GWX3.0.

(From the GWX Support Page): You can run optional tools like SH3 Commander, JSGME, SH3Gen, etc. provided you run them as an 'Administrator' after you have installed them.
I think I forgot to do this the last few times I tried GWX. I assume I need to also check the admin box in SH3.EXE as well? Or will Commander automatically spawn SH3.EXE with admin privileges? I assume it probably doesnt matter, but it's best to know before doing this clean install again. I think at least some of the "game weirdness" I was experiencing before may have been a part of that. Most of the time I hate it when programs like disk defraggers auto-spawn web browsers with admin priv due to security, but in this situation it wouldnt bother me. (I run my stuff in a Vista User Account)

Welcome to SubSim and sorry you had such a hard time even getting the game installed! Hope you enjoy it, and any questions other than installing, we'll be quick to answer :O:
