I meant 11th tube : you surely noticed how this sub, being british and all, has a, well how'd you put it?, a hole ? at the rear end of it that serves no purpose ;)

removed the BMM node, created a new .dat with only the BLD node in it (the 02 door where before I used the 01... thanks Peabody :) ) imported it in the triton.dat, put it after all the other doors.

I have just installed this sub and started playing a campaign based on Pearl Harbor. Everything seems to be fine with the sim.
But I can no longer select any base OTHER THAN Pearl when starting a campaign. Whenever I try to move to Manila or Brisbane in different years, the game simply CTDs (Crashes To Desktop). I am playing SH4 1.4, which means I don't have the U-Boat missions addon. It all leaves me with the impression that the UPCs for the other bases are botched somehow. I am using the download from this thread. Any help would be appreciated. P.S.: The game only CTDs in 1941 and 1942 when I try to select a starting base other than Pearl Harbor, so I'm pretty sure it's the UPC files in the campaign that are botched. In 1943 and 1944 the T class is no longer available, so the game allows me to change bases freely. P.P.S.: This is a list of other mods I am currently using (just in case, though I think it's not a conflict) - MyMenu (so I can use menumaker), ParaB's Fewer Radio Contacts, Torpedo Damage Fix and the ASW_9.0_standard mod for aircraft. |

I am trying to avoid moving to Trigger Maru or Real Fleet Boat just yet. I bought the game a month or so ago and I'm still getting used to the nuances of modding it, so I don't want to rush into a major supermod.
You seem to have added the boat to the other bases, here's a short transcript of the flotillas.upc: whoa....wait....I seem to have found the mistake. I found it. Here's the flotilla 2 upc part for the triton as it is in the download: [Flotilla 1.UserPlayerUnitType 9] ID= F2Triton NameDisplayable= T class AvailabilityInterval= 1940-12-08, NULL IDLinkUserPlayerUnitType= Triton UnitTypeCommonality= 15 ; to be used when a random choice is assigned IDFlotillaLinkTransferTo= NULL I just changed the Flotilla number to 2 and the change in 41 works now. I checked 42 and Brisbane still crashes the sim, and I found out why. You did add the Triton on the List at the CareerStart file for Brisbane 42, but you didn't add the boat or its missions in the flotillas.upc I'll try fixing it by myself. |
Fixed it.
I just copy/pasted the Tritons Flotilla 2 entry to the third flotilla (chaging the number to 9 instead of 8 to account for more subs in the third flotilla) and copy/pasted the Gato missions from flotilla 2 itself and renumbered them to unit number 9, the Triton. Everything seems to be working fine. If you want the files to update your download I can mail them to you. |
