At least Steed talks about his own country. The poster in question here likes to make a habit of badmouthing other countries, mine especially, and it's getting old.

...but, no one upset the Americans! |
I just wanted to be the 32nd comment on a thread that has yet to go beyond the title.

The thread title is not offensive to Americans - they should be offended that the makers of Belchday dare to to tell them into their faces how stupid they think Americans are - and getting away with it. |

You seam a little over sensative to me, but that said; no one upset the Americans! ;) |

Face it. You love it. You, and many others, cannot resist them. If you are really tiring of it, don't answer, and they'll drop down too. For any of you who can't remember when you last posted outside of general topics - this stuff is your bread and butter! [Edit] :rotfl: |

Besides you're demanding that I provide a specific phrase, another cheap debating tactic, whereas you know that i'm talking about meaning and intent. The title of this thread and his subsequent replies clearly shows his intent is to be provocative and insulting. |
It's a little more fundamental than a "cheep debateing tactic".
If you are only getting SB's "meaning and intent" by reading between the lines, then that is your reading that is causing you to get upset and not SB's writing. A really cheep debating tactic would be to point out that there is only one 'e' in "debating", but of course I would never stoop to such a low level; I make enough typos myself. ;) /post-irony |

In any case one doesn't have to read between the lines to get the insult in "Stupidity, made in the US". |

So I did! I coulda sworn I copy & pasted it, then when I reviewed wht I had written I saw a spelling mistake. Well, I certinaly proved my self right: I make enough typos myself! *edit* How rude of me, please accept my apologies! *edit2* Quote:
It is also about a predominantly US attitude to carbon, all be it at the extreme end. But as I said: Whilst I don't think the topic title is "offensive", I do think it is a little ironic to use the word "stupid" in such a stupid way. :shifty: Less than tactful. It detracts from the content of the topic. And that is something of an understatement. Any topic title discussed more than the topic is a poor choice of topic title. |
