Pros:
  • Sailing ships!
  • New working theatres and awesome-looking junks!
  • Lots and lots of new ships (see bold text above;)).
  • Armed tugs as separate units.
  • More eye-candy (bridges, memorial, ice-bergs, dolphins, and so on).
  • The new damage model.
  • The new sound effects and smoke effects (load up the Second Battle of Narvik to see what I mean!).
  • Names of nations, seas, etc. imprinted on navigation map.
  • SH3 Commander-compatible.
Cons:
  • Single-player historical missions should've had better descriptions, what with the level of detail of the rest of the mod.
  • "Longyearbyen" is spelled wrong.

I thought crap, I screwed up and picked the wrong button for god mode.

Then when I got further and further from port, the plots started to disappear off the map. :hmm:

How do you mean - all over the map - Around the port or out in the north sea ?

Sorrry should have been a little more concise. My bad.

No, I mean the ships that are in the harbor already. They show up on the map as contacts when zoom out some but when you zoom in, they actually turn into the ship shapes.

I was thinking that even with god mode turned off, the ships will show up anyway just for the fact the crew on deck can see them and so they show on the map. They disappear off the map when they get far enough away for the crew not to see them any more.

I was thinking that maybe its a mod that the GWX crew created.

Its not that big of a deal really.

Razman23 12-16-06 11:41 PM

Is it just me or do the crew grow breads?

Someone suggested this for SH3Commander.
But I don't think it was ever included.

No - anything your crew see will appear on the map and as you are in port they can see a lot of ships

Conning tower instruments

Black as night?

Shouldn't the compass and the telegraph be illuminated at least?

Black nights seem darker and the ships are very dark...

Checked and recalibrated my monitor using the Nvidia system and still seems overly dark....

Guess I'll have to live with it....

Reticle in UZO is black, again shouldn't it be light green at night?

Perhaps I need to reinstall some mod I had?

Game play is great, load time a little excessive, long time for missions to load up as well.

This will be my first GW exposure. I reinstalled SHIII, added the mod, and tried it out. Took the U-124 out of Lorient. So far so good.

One wierd thing. I had a little wood piece on the upper left portion of the screen which would not go away, and served no purpose. It overlayed everything, and appeared on every screen.

Is that not the stopwatch and you click and drag it to where you want?

Safe-Keeper 12-17-06 04:26 AM

Yes. It fooled me too the first time:rotfl:.

Jimbuna 12-17-06 06:49 AM

Click on it and drag/push it to an outer edge of your screen.

Another "impression": The high number of airplanes in the game. I had to constantly crash dive or go to periscope depth as I was jumped by planes constantly. It seems that once they find you, they'll swarm the general area and pester you until you're sunk or in retreat.

Woow it's amazing !! I love almost all of this mod. One thing only i don't like...the night is too dark,i can't really see any ship even if i have it at 500m ! Maybe should i set my nvidia ? Or there is a mod ? Please heelp :)
