on a more related question..

is anyone here still using Leo's Roll and Pitch Mod?
it seems like with the patch the boats are riding a little bit better, the roll on the uboats still isnt enough but it seems better than the v14 stock fleet boats. The fleet boats seem to be rolling a bit more now as well. I was running Roll Pitch mod for a few days but figured since im on a Uboat campaign it wouldnt apply anyways.

is anyone using it? any comments if it would still be effective in 1.5?

Hi ATR,
If you are using the new PE 2 and think the boats roll better, it's my doing, now the sub rides on the wave and the waves act more naturally. Panther Cules send me an email with some technical stuff and thanks to him I implemented it in the mod.

BTW I haven't received any serious bugs, but I am awaiting swdw new surface and divetime mod, which will go into PE 2 allso a surprise will be included if Kapitan can make it work...

Kriller,
Thank you!
I figured as such, nice job on implimenting it into your PE, i just wanted to be sure i no longer needed R&P.

BTW, ive had no bugs or issues with any of your latest stuff at all. Just ocean goodness! I think your biggest accomplishment, by far, was getting rid of the shakey water.

thanks for the reponse and lookin forward to your new stuff

When referring to PE2, am I correct that it is a forthcoming WIP Mod version?

Also, the last Patch I have installed (in SH4 1.5) is this one, "Patch for pe1_2Alpha". Is that correct, and is it only for SH4 1.5?

Is Patch for pe1_1Alpha the last Patch for SH4 1.4, followed only by the "PE 1_1a3_new_scene_test"?

Will the new PE2 roll changes work with the "diverate" Mod which effects the 'depth' at which the boats ride on the surface?

nice work, Kriller! couple of questions I'm repeating because I couldn't find an answer in this thread:

1. is there a way to have day/night ship-wake-halos? the day-time wake-halo is perfect, at night it's too bright. I couldn't find an answer to this. I tried a stand-alone mod and it looks better at night but worse during the day.

2. i've yet to see many clouds, is this using your old 3D clouds?

3. is the foam/spray the hi-res or lo-res version? when I try to load the "performance" ROW foam/spray mod over top, I don't see the old bump in FPS.

4. I added GREEN CROSSHAIRS over top PE 1.1a and it didn't work... any ideas?

great work!

Regarding the scene.dat changes in ROW . I always used the stock scene dat for patch 1.4 because i didnt like the sea movement in ROW , especially the wave shakes . Also my comp ran like a pig . Now that i have patch 1.5 and the scene dat is basically ROW , my comp runs like a pig again and i get the wave shakes/wobbles all the time . I reduced the sea speed from 0.08 down to 0.045 and it has helped a lot . Hope this helps someone .

Well I am thinking about quiting this project, because of this guy: :nope:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=132716

Basicly he has taken all of the ROW work refined and calling it his own... Not even asking me for permission to use files from ROW etc. etc.

No credits to the original modders....

That sucks kriller2, but don't give up just because of this. To be honest, I'll continue to use ROW and its PE branch cause, well, it was Dave's work. I don't care if I gain a few FPS or the colors look a bit better or whatever. Dave's spirit is here, and you're honoring it with every new release of PE, so I'll stick with it.

ETA: Whoah, what happened? Posts appear and disappear? Have I finally lost my mind?
ETA #2: And now my post to kriller2 is BEFORE his post?!? Uuuuh...huh?!? :o
ETA #3: Had to do some moving around...damn that was weird! :rotfl:

Kriller i don't think that you should give up on what has become one of the best mods ever.

I do know that you have offered your help to W-clear ragarding some issues that he has/had. I'm guessing that you have had no response from him which is just damn right rude IMO.

I've looked at some of his work and yes i'm quite impressed, have i downloaded any of his mods? No, i'm sticking with what i know is best.

To give up on this know becouse somebody is using some of your work (?) would be like letting somebody rob your house while watched and did nothing. Does W-clear realise he is stepping on peoples toes? Is he just innocently modding away oblivious to the fact?

Ditto. ROW PE is the full package. the real deal.

I thought he was doing it 100% on his own. ?

walrusbomb 03-12-08 09:41 AM

I'm sure w_clear will give proper credit when he's finished... he's in MOD-mode and we all know how much tunnelvision comes with going into MOD-mode.

dont stop Kriller! (at least not before answering my questions on the previous page :D)

It's not about giving up, but how would you feel if you spent nights trying to figure a problem out and finaly after alot of brainstorming and testing make it work, f.ex. the lightshafts to only be showed under water I made a change in the shaders and BOOM the next version of Wclears mod uses that shader change the same goes for the work on clouds speed etc etc. I have tryed to mention this to Wclear to no avail. Jaketooxs water edge mod is allso in Wclears work.

I think at least he should give the credits in his readme, that's the ONLY thing I and alot of others are working for free for in this community.

ReallyDedPoet 03-12-08 09:46 AM

kriller I sent you a PM.

Kriller, I PM'd W_clear and asked he creates a readme with any credits were they are due. Common courtesy as you know.

Remember that he is at least 12-15hrs ahead of EU or US-guys...he's deep asleep as you're typing.;)
