The Dark Knight is now rated with a average feedback of 9.4 out of 10, knocking the Godfather off it's no.1 perch, down into no.3, after the Shawshank redemption.

it has been said that people are giving 10 to the dark night and giving low scores to other movies that threaten the dark knights no.1 spot.

I don't care, I didn't think the godfather was all that great, and I'll be seeing the dark night this weekend.

That sounds like some of the stuff we have to deal with in the SH mods forums

That's the best poster, IMO.

I saw Dark Knight a few weekends ago.and I thought it was ok. I think the movie had way too many subplots and it did not have time to really delve in to any of them to the appropriate depth. The story line was very disorganized and disjointed.

It had some awesome special effects, but that was pretty much it. Take away the CGA and you are not left with much.

It is a comic book type move so don't expect any semblance of reality.

The actor who played the Joker stole the entire movie. What a great job he did with the role. The facial movements, body language, and that voice. Well done! Everyone else a very distant second. Morgan Freeman was excellent when explaining the problems with blackmail to this wormy guy. Only he could pull off that line.

All in all, I felt I got my money's worth. It was a bit long but only occasionally boring. I don't think I would ever want to see it again.

To me the movie was .... OK

And that's not too bad considering the quality of movies these days

I saw this the other week and was very impressed.

I think its as good if not better than Batman Begins. Its a real shame that Heath Ledger will not be able to reprise his role; his Joker was a brilliant performance, dark and deranged without too much hamming it up.

I think of all the comic book movies out recently, the two Batman films are the best by far.

No, I was referring to her last scene.

And you guys are way to eclectic for me. I think she's fine.

Maggie Gyllenhaal,

I think she's alright infact you seen the way she shimmies when she walks? Damn sexy if you ask me. Trust me the uber pretty ones are the most disappointing..I think Maggie would be dynamite.....

stabiz 07-31-08 01:15 PM

Yeah, Maggie is sexy. The movie is madly overrated, by the way. Batman Begins is better.

Platapus 07-31-08 01:36 PM

Can you believe that some are calling this the greatest movie of all time?

http://www.imdb.com/chart/top

Come back after 10 years or so and see if anyone remembers this movie before we can call it one of the greatest movies of all time. It is this month's blockbuster.

Sheesh, movie been out for a month and it is the greatest movie of all time. :nope:

Raptor1 07-31-08 02:07 PM

Don't know if it's the best movie ever, but it's certainly the best movie I've seen in a long while

It might be the best genre movie of the year, but Iron Man was more fun. I liked Dark Knight, a lot; but I'd hardly put it in a class with anything in the AFI's top ten.

Frame57 08-01-08 11:51 AM

Iron man was good, and at least they had a hottie for that pepper chick. But I am so burned out on Batman. probably because of the lousy ones that preceeded these later ones. But they are way better that the crap Burton put out. Is it me, or does everything Tim Burton seem to have the same feel about it?

Stealth Hunter 08-01-08 12:10 PM

Burton stayed more true to the comics, though. He made Gotham the way it was supposed to be according to the illustrators of the early publishings.

As for it being the greatest movie of all time, that's not what the IMDB Top 250 is there for. It's there to show what movies users liked the most. I thought it was a great movie, that's true, but I didn't think it was the greatest. However, a lot of people thought it was really good, and that's just being shown in the 250.

McBeck 08-02-08 08:56 AM

I just saw it a few weeks ago and I think the storyline was somewhat of a mess, but Ledge was brilliant as the Joker!!

Overall it was good movie - all credit to Heath Ledger :)

Dowly 08-02-08 09:00 AM

Still havent seen it, but the reviews I've read about it have all praised it! Like I said to Fincuan last night on TS, one of the reviews said that Ledger's Joker is even better than Jack Nicholson's Joker in the original Batman. And judging by the Youtube clips I watched, I think the reviewer is right!

I like how the Dark Knight looks like, a dark, violent superhero movie. Not the usual "cartoonish" style. Looking forward to seeing it!

Only one theater in this crappy town = I'll wait for the DVD. :yep:

Platapus 08-02-08 09:19 AM

With the speed of which movies are being distributed on DvD these days, I rarely go to the theaters any more. Too expensive, too crowded, too noisy, too many kids :yep:

Used to be you had to wait for a year for release on video tape. These days, I am sure the Dark Knight will be out on DvD real soon if it aint already.

I know that pirated copies are already out there but only a real scumbag watches pirated movies.
