EDIT: Nope. My moderator powers are no good on GT. Ah well, that's what I get for ignorance.

its weired though
I have changed the thread title before in GT
I think anybody could do it, as long as its his/her own post

Question for our British members: How do you feel about him using Diana's ring?

It's a nice touch...I just hope it brings more luck to them than it did to its former owners.

Nope, that's the title that shows up above your first post. The title that shows up in the forum can only be changed by moderators of that particular forum.

I feel nothing. When I was best man at a wedding, the vicar asked me, Do you have the ring? "I have the ring" Could you give me it? "I could." Why wont you give me the ring? "Because you have not asked proper instruction for the rings transfer" Give me the damn ring  "Here is the ring as you request" :yep:

All the best to the pair, as long as she doesn't end up like Sarah Ferguson gets desperate tries to sell ex hubby for some cash! :DL

If the marriage is over the ex wife shouldn't be allowed to keep the title. Why do they keep it when they turn out to be more a pain in the backside for the royals.:hmmm:

Quite natural and is actually tradition within families.

It actually scared me quite a bit how the News was already trying to garner public outrage as to how Dianas eldest should wish to give his future wife his mothers ring.

Couple that with the usual tripe like "Is Kate the right woman for William" polls.....

FFS, he's happy, she's happy, everyone in the royal family is happy. The News is not happy because there is nothing bad to report.

Why is it they (the news) seem to think that the public of this country have earned some right to comment and (virtually) sign off on this engagement because of some fanatical devotion to Diana.

Good luck to Wills and Kate.:yeah:

Let's now wait and see how the Media can bugger this up for them.

Jimbuna 11-17-10 10:29 AM

I agre with Dan....it is a long held British (possibly other nations as well for all I know) tradition for jewellery to be 'handed down' within families.

I wear my late fathers wedding ring for example.

It was given to William to do as he wished and obviously has the blessing of his grandmother and the rest of the royal family.

Wishing them both every happiness.

:yep: :rotfl2:

Well, the French opinion likes her a lot.
I do too, but I think it's going to be a pain to this Princess to come, to succeed to such a magnetic and charismatic Princess as Diana was. No one will ever take her place in people's heart, I guess...

Anyway, best wishes to them ! :03:  :D :sunny:
