I got up early to watch it. Pretty much a non-event. The only reason I watched it was to see if they were going to counter-attack and shoot back at us.

Denizens of the moon were shocked and dismayed to find the surface of their world pockmarked by yet another crater. "Just when we were starting to get a handle on filling these damn holes in, NASA vandalizes us further", one lunar official complained. "How dare they callously disfigure our beautiful planet?"

It's hardly the first time. The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter team recently released this image of another man-made impact on the Moon 38 years ago . The crater in the center of this image was formed by Apollo 14's Saturn IVB booster. The booster was intentionally impacted into the lunar surface on Feb. 4, 1971. The impact caused a minor "moonquake" that scientists used to learn about the moon's interior structure. Seismometers placed on the surface by the Apollo 12 astronauts returned data on the tremor.

Earlier today the Supreme Earth Leader declared victory over the forces
of the moon. An unconditional surrender has been signed by the acting
leaders of the Lunar Peoples. This marks the end of the eons of tyranny
the Lunar People have inflicted against our planet.

As the announcement was made, already preparations are under way to
transport the survivors of our almighty bombardment to holding camps on
the earth where the remaining Lunar people will be treated with mercy
until their humane extermination.

Never again will the moon make slaves of us; humanity is free.

The moon it's self will be left in orbit as a memorial to the brave men of
the NASA military divisions who gave their lives for our lasting freedom.

Long live the Earth!

And thirty years from now in pangs of guilt and remorse over our easy one-sided victory, we'll set up the few surviving Lunarites with either monetary reparations or casinos. :D

I actually wrote a blog about this and what many of my friends were thinking.
