All you need is a good size mug, even a small soup pan woks in a pinch, a rubber band and coffee filters or a paper towel.

One fine evening all packed up for hunting camp, or so I thought, I got ready for an early morning trek. Forgot the perkulator. So I sunk a paper towel in a mug just low enough to hold some coffee, held in place with a rubber band. Bring enough water just to a boil and slowly pour it over the coffee. Beats the snot out of instant. Drop or two of deisel optional.

However, I do feel your pain when the coffee maker is broken, out of coffee, out of coffee filters or not set up the night before to be brewed automatically in the morning.
