ummm i cant say ive seen one either yet, although to say that i hav'nt really seen or been in contact with any large convoys, just as well i guess - keeps me away from the aunterrage of escorts and destroyers lol. Although i bound to come across some soon ! ;) .

I hav'nt seen any planes lunched directly from carriers in the game either, would be cool though. The carriers ive seen are either those in port, or ones that are in bad weather so would'nt be able to lunch them anyway. I think they do bring about more air sorties, and air patrols, if a carriers in the same grid.

Try sailing up around Scapa early war
You will be buzzed by Swordfish non stop
Swordfish are only allocated to carriers

So yes carriers will spawn them not actually fly them off though

Uhh yeh, CAM, that's what I meant. :yep:

I found it in the museum but there's another problem; they weren't introduced until 1941 (at least in-game). I'm in September of 1940.

What I was looking at was actually an Empire-type freighter. Manual targeting, you know. Once I got closer it was obvious. So, I managed to misidentify it both by name here on the forums, and in-game.

According to Wikipedia, they made eight launches and shot down 6. Not bad! On the other hand, 12 of these CAM ships were sunk.

Interesting, either way. Thanks folks!
