Any how the Eastern Front made the Western Front look like a side show in the terms of numbers. |
Am I the only one that takes this as it should be taken: like a joke, not an attack of the U.S. of A or it's people?
Relax mates, it's to give a laugh, I laughed reading this, and I think you should too. |
I thought it was a joke. Didn't bother me....I stuck up for our brit allies.

Same here. And frankly, may our countries continue to be friends and allies  |

Either way, the thread links I posted have 95% of the American users on the defensive, not on the offensive. They simply stated that the British don't give the United States enough credit, and given some of the posts I've seen, I must agree.:yep:  |
All depends on how old you are in regard to what the schools teach you. The kids history books today are pretty lousy. The PC has been ratcheted up so much that the writers of the cirriculum don't think our children should learn about "a bunch of racist old white slave-owning men." This is why the younger kids don't understand anything of the american identity anymore and just how amazing the founding of this country was.

Stealth Hunter......this means war! And I'm going at it retro style.......as soon as 20,000 red coats plus assorted German mercenaries have sailed across the Atlantic (about a month?) were going to burn down the white house.....again! :p
You better get your Kentucky rifles cleaned your going to need em lads! :yep: Seriously, though, my 1812 post was in jest. However having said that, the Battle of Britain wasn't won off the back of US pilots flying for the RAF, the majority were British and Commonwealth (along with Poles, Czechs, Free French etc) though its stupid to say that US pilots made no contrubution to the battle. We needed as many pilots as we could get in summer 1940 to replace our losses and any adventurous Americans were warmly welcomed. I believe that there was an early British pioneer of the light bulb plus a chap in the 19th century made a powered model aircraft in Britain, it actually ran off a tiny steam engine. As others have said though this is a light hearted thread, just a bit of banter. BTW I loved Saving Private Ryan:up: |
HA. Hey if you want to replay those classic wars it will be possible to do on a PC soon. ttp://pc.ign.com/articles/815/815233p1.html
Empire: Total War will include land and naval battles. Anyone familiar with the Total War series know how awesome these games are. I can't wait to play it. |

Many moons ago in a previous job I worked with an American who claimed the Allies were a bunch of (Bleep) and America saved the world hands down. In fact he believed America only needed to drop four or five Atom bombs on Germany, job done. Just like to add he felt a good number should had been dropped on Russia as well. In my day, at school, WW2 was not really well done. Weak and bland as I remember. No idea about today, but the PC crap we have to put up with well you never know. What ever the subject always best to have a good book or two to read. In my case shelfs full of WW2 books. |

Now, let's not bicker and argue about who killed who...(yes, a reference, and I bow to the one who can identify the movie and the scene!;) ) This is almost as silly as.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L57-v...eature=related |

Scene 24, Interior Day. Sir Lancelot has just massacred the wedding guests at swamp castle, and the father of the groom now attempts to calm the situation, adopt Princes Lucky, and then marry her off to Sir Lancelot. Thus getting his hands on her huge tracts of land. |
