I know this is an old thread. but here goes my Yamato story:

I've made a single mission to test sensors, in which i put an yamato on the direct course of a porpoise... so i just sit and wait for it...

The first few times were just for testing the sensor ranges and all.... but this last time I tryed to sink it...

I hit her wiht 8 torpedoes... 5 on one side, making 5 spreaded holes and 3 on the other side, that made no holes... she was put to a dead stop though...

Obviously being a noob at manual targeting, I ran out of torpedoes... still 5 different holes on one side and she only tilted slightly... the other 3 despite not makin holes created blasts...

As I was out of ammo, i surfaced and tryed to finish her off with my deck gun... obviously I was sunk after a couple of minutes...

you can do it in eight or nine with a full length run down the hull
and set for 41 ft.
(the last reliable depth setting for pistols in this case, trust me)

best if you can put it all under the citadel
ie. between the first and last turrets. there
seems to be a soft bunker or magazine under
the third main turret. at least in RFB
(v.?????? I cant recall last before ubm)

Good hunting:up:

So the torpedo depth is the depth at which they travel or the at which they hit?

Thought it was the later...

So they travel and hit at the same depth?

That means the Yamato is 41ft deep, right?

I sank her with 4 under the keel.

Standard torps standard ships ????

I have made hundreds of hits on yamato in the last two months.
I would be impressed to say the least if you could reproduce the
shot. or show a screenie.

I always make sure it's at least 1 metre deeper than her keel, or any target's keel.

Standard Torps....... TMO, RSRD....I fired 6 two ran under and the last 4 blew equidistant from each other under the keel starting at the stack and moving aft:

I was delightfully surprised BTW. I didn't even know it was a Yamato class until I saw the silhouette at the last moment coming through the fog........

I frantically set depths and maneuvered at the last second for a point blank shot at about 700 yds...........The first and last time I've had a chance to set my sites on her.
