It gives you the download for the Hud you asked about.

And WEBSTER that pink smoke is from Alied downed pilot's. It was done in patch 1.3 to make it easier to find them and rescue them.

Go to the Bridge and use the Binoculars with your hud set to the bridge. When the marker for the Bino's turns red click on the rescue Pilot button to save them.

well i thought it was definately fire but i got on the free camera and watched the air attack and zoomed in real close to find a pilot there lol.

seeing it next to the crashed plane, it looks just like fire only pinker lol.

i have seen downed pilots before and found them in my scope but i havent seen one signal with a signal flare yet so i didnt know what it was.

well it should be modded to be way way smaller and the neverending flare isnt very realistic.
the flare should only last for a minute at the most.

i would like to see the smoke cut down about 60-70% so it is 1/3 the size it is now and have it appear only when you aproach to within reasonable visual range of him while your surfaced.

seeing smoke clouds everywhere including way off on the horizon is just laughable
