... How much experience do you have with British Weather, Deputy?

In the game...way too much!!! I know in real life the North Atlantic gets bad weather. But the game isn't just modelled in the North Atlantic. Even along the US coast and along South America and Africa it seems to be perpetual storming. Heck, maybe I ned a mod that will allow me to use the deck gun during rough weather if I can't get out of this crazy perpetual storm season mode!!!! Hmmmm...I wonder if there is such a mod????

You can always change a file to allow you to use the deck gun in 15 knot winds.

I don't use any weather mods and I don't seem to have too many problems with the weather changing. If the weather doesn't change I resist saving and restarting for a while until it does unless absolutely necessary.

I recommend this mod, I always use it with SHIII Commander.

I tried that mod and it doesn't allow permanent change to calm weather.

Ah looks like I misread something then.

Well in my new career first 3 mission went on with fully calm weather. Not becouse the mod made it possible, I was just lucky. But the weather mod really makes the weather changing, not just having full storms all the time.

The British weather is mostly really awful and I heard the northern Atlantic isn't much better. I know it can be frustrating, but I got used to it. ^^

I understand about the North Atlantic being bad weather and rough water, but SH3 seems to apply that weather to the whole world. :yep:

i am fed up with having 7 days of heavy fog . i will try the weather mod. mainly to reduce that effect.

Elmo 08-02-07 08:58 AM

I want to be sure about one thing. Saving and reloading during a patrol causes the weather to change more frequently, or less?

Gezoes 08-02-07 09:31 AM

I think I read somewhere that after loading a savegame, the weather doesn't change for 48 hours...

I may have goofed up with this mod. I tried it again using SH3 Commander to start the sim and it seems to work okay. Had plenty of good weather. Unfortunately, both my flak gunners got blasted when I got greedy with getting aircraft kills :D

If you change your config file, and then use SH3Weather mod, it resets all of your values. If you like the weather you are having, do as BBW suggested and save, then restart and you will have some more of the weather you like.
I have had as much as 8 weeks of 15ms wind dense for, clouds and rain.
I know the North Atlantic and Ireland/British Isles get some bad weather, but 8 weeks seems a little much

Deputy 08-02-07 02:39 PM

irish: That was my feeling exactly on the amount of time bad weather was present. So far the mod seems to be working well.

It's been mentioned that saving regularly resets the weather-change-interval, giving you perfect weather forever. will have to test this.

Elmo 08-03-07 09:20 AM

Suppose you wanted the weather to change as frequently as possible. How would you do it?
