The only logical explanation is that the kaleun was having some sort of episode brought on by the loss of 3 of his crew. The emptiness of the U-Boat was a manifestation of the emptiness he felt in his soul....:hmm:

Either that or the good people at Dell have sold me a lemon

At least your sorted mate

Man! The same thing has happened on this patrol. Cruising in the Caribbean and detected radar emissions. Hit P to go to periscope depth and I'm greeted by the same empty control room and the radio and hydrophone rooms are the same.

Again I havent installed any mods or made any changes to the game or the computer at all. When I hit shift and F2 to roam about the boat and assess the damage the attack periscope in the conning tower had all its dials and seemed to be normal. All controls are working and the sonar room is detecting noise ok. The only thing I've noticed is that when this happens I get a Radar screen display in the bottom left corner of the screen but only in the control, radio and hydrophones screens. All crew management obs and attack scope screens are looking ok.

Any ideas?

I think I'd be considering a fresh install :hmm:

Think I'll give it one more patrol. It only kicks in mid patrol and it doesn't affect any gameplay except from a graphics point of view. Truth is I've made it to mid 1943 with this boat which outstrips my previous record by about... oh... 2 years or something. I'd like to push on ghost ship or not:arrgh!:
