The only way to handle the DDs is to meet them head on deck guns a blazin' and torps firing while you're at flank speed on the surface. Duke it out with them. Show them you're not afraid and are willing to stand up and fight the good fight.

You could do like I do....slink away with your tail between your legs as soon as you even THINK you see one, go silent and go DEEP, make course changes so you stay in his baffles and pray.:)
