Hi guys, I spent many hours on SH3 some years ago, first with GWX3 and then mostly with MEG3 megamods, enjoying it A LOT, and now I'm learning to play SH5 with "Wolfes From The Deep" megamod on a Steam version of the game (and I can confirm that this method works with TDW patcher :yeah:).
This forum is a great resource and a nice reading and I send my thanks to all of you for your work and answers, because I could patch, mod & enjoy this beautiful game simply reading 'em. :subsim: |
welcome aboard!

Hello!
Completely new player here! Never played a subsim before, and only recently got very interested in sim-games. I always loved complicated games (Dwarf Fortress mostly, Dominions 4), and started playing War Thunder about 2 years ago. I quickly grew tired of arcade mode and wanted to try full simulation battles, but the queues were so long and none of my friends were interested. Also I learned that there's better simulators than WT, so I turned to DCS-world. Still trying to get a grip on the A10-C (reading the manual atm), and also reading on how to read every dial an airplane can have through X-plane. I played a bit of Train-simulator, but found it not to my liking, as there is not so much of a personal 'challenge' in it. It's definitely relaxing though. And now I'm here! Trying out submarine simulations! In real life I'm a post-doctoral researcher working at Helsinki University (Finland) on social immunity (that is...how do social creatures such as ants work together in order to get rid of the enormous amount of diseases that want to attack them). I'm not going to be much of a regular (leaving to Paris in an hour, then to Stockholm to visit girlfriend, then to Netherlands to visit parents for Christmas and straight up to South-Africa for fieldwork, after which I have about 2 months before I have to leave for 3 months of Fieldwork in eastern Finland again). Probably sounds fun, and it is, but it's a whole lotta stress, sometimes it's nice to just be home! :o Anyway, enough of my rambling! Looking forward to play more. Already thanks for the help I got in the topics I created. Expect many more! I guess my researcher's blood makes me want to ask things until I understand things 110% :P Happy meeting you all! |

Newbie aboard
Ahoy mates
I've played SH3+GWX quite for a long time, then stopped (partly because of RL intruding in my career, partly bc SH3 grew somewhat boring after hundred of hours). Now, after more than a couple of years, I decided to give a try to the new version, mostly because I want to try something different and to stay in the naval simulations (I am a navy buff). Everything is new to me, so expect many newbie questions. Gute Jagd HB |
My Introduction
Hello Everyone of Subsim! My name is Jaspal in real life but I prefer if you call me by SilentHunts or 505Northman. Why I say 505Northman because it's my youtube channel! Just search the name in and there you go! I like to play Simulation games a lot and building games too. Sometimes I like to play fps and such but not mainstream ones. I have about 100 games on steam now which is a big milestone.
I love history, games, and especially WAR! Mainly war as WWI and WWII and 18/19th century warfare! I hope to become a helpful person on Subsim helping out people and making my own mods! |
