Do you have a range estimate, AOD, the type of weather, how high are the seas, how high is your periscope, or other pertinent information? :salute:

Quick question, do i follow the map marking or what the actual orders say? Because i have a patrol that says i need to go to BF74, but the actual patrol marker is in BF72.

Just downloaded this mod, installed and tested.
Looks great, but I have two questions: 1. Is there a way to do this in wide-screen? I select 16:9 60 Hz, but it shows up as non-widescreen. 2. Is there a way to provide an "Identify Target" key assignment. I love manual targeting except for having to flip through the recognition manual. Thanks! Bizarre - I loaded it up a second time and re-selected the 16:9 60 Hz resolution and now it works for both issues above... |
That is the way the Silent Hunter series works. They are old DirectX v9.0c games, and have to be re-started for certain changes to take effect. Most of the game runs off of the Save folder. Be sure and empty your Save folder ("C:\Users \UserName \Documents \SH4" by default), else you will mix what you were running before with what you have now, and end up with "mod soup" of the bad kind... :salute:

Where can I read accurate heading of my sub, at least 1 degree? The readings on compass are hard to see clearly.

I’m afraid i can’t make it clearer  |
A few things I have noticed while playing Dark Waters.
Every convoy I have run into so far has neutrals in it and when I launch my torps at them not knowing they are neutrals and I kill them it affects my campaign. My latest patrol when I returned to port my carrier ended because the Gestapo carried me way for my actions. The Type 2 torpedos are way to reliable, they do not go deep like they did in real life. Alot of ships in the recognition manual do not have there angled views. Neutral ships attacked my sub. An American ship attacked me when I got too close even though it was 1940. Other then those things mentioned above, the mod is pretty good just wish there was support for 1366x768 resolution. |
That’s all the interest of this mod: you have to identify ship’s nationality before hitting the red button :03:
Type G7e II were more reliable indeed. Have you ever seen real ship ID book? I’m not sure they had angled views for all of them :03: Neutral ships shouldn’t attack your sub, that’s right...very hard to get them right ingame. That just add some difficulties to the game! Stay safe undetected :D (U-Boat priority) All you mentioned above was part of OM mod that i didn’t touched. |
errr a Uboot Kommander would have to be a fool to think that neutral escorts wont defend a Konvoy. And I too learned my lesson about firing at ships before 100% ID (I sunk a German destroyer !!)
And to be honest (early war) I get about 50-60% dud rate with all torps. |
