Ok, that's absolutely brilliant. :yeah: |
Loved it, and the end just topped it off nicely and made me chuckle out loud.

Well looks like the last patch broke the game for me. Anyone else getting crashes, errors or black screens after the latest patch?
|
Haha, yesterday was bit of a cluster fornication for ArmA 3. :) (It was globally broken for about 15-20 minutes thanks to a Battleye update)
Haven't had any problems you mention with the latest patch though. :hmmm: |

EDIT: The hotfix which came out today fixed the problems that I was having. |
You're probably the first person in history to be upset by a game continuing to recieve updates. Congratulations. :O:

Tonto- from ARMA FINLAND has released a first public version of his "Valtatie 5" map, based on finnish terrain along the road.
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthrea...62#post2957462 It's a great map especially for TVT battles thanks to the thick forests. |
Got this today, but I cannot get into any MP games :wah: It either tells me the game has some mod or DLC I don't have or I get kicked from the server without a reason. Not really much fun.

I had ArmA3 installed with all updates, and bought the new island and downloaded when it still was in Beta. ArmA3 alone did not cause any issues, but the island download caused my Windows Update settings to be constantly and automatically switched on again, where as I had them switched off for good and wanted reasons. After every booting, WU was switched on again. So I deleted all of ArmA3, and sicne then no automatic activation of WU takes place anymore, like it should be - my house, my rules. You understand.
Can anyone confirm that this is no longer the case and that the whole set of software and DLC workds without automatically setting WU to "on"? And if not, can one install a game in Steam without necessarily also installing all its updates and DLCs one has bought? So far I am under the impression that any reinstallation automatically and unavoidably also installs all DLCS one had bought for the game in question. Reading AskWoody's blog, people still updating their windows 7, 8, and 10 anyway, really get the problems and garbage delivered in trucks these days. I can only watch in awe and wonder why people still play Microsoft'S wicked game there. But okay, that is a different theme. |

Have my words been unclear to you? Else the Windows thread in the tehc forum may help you, or any of the postings of mine where I said why I no longer allow my W7 to contact MS servers via Windows Update. The latest DLC for Arma3 results in these setting always beeing reset to automatically installing Windows updates, which to me means nothing else than allowing MS to spell and cast disaster, so i do not allow that.

The possibility that APEX reeeaaally messes with your system settings is... very low, yet surely not absolutely impossible, especially on a system that hasn't seen any updates for... how long now? :har: BTW, I am using Windows as my OS since the mid nineties and I can't remember any problems worth mentioning. It is amuzing that it's always the same type of people who seem to struggle with system maintenance, even though Windows 7 is pretty self-reliant and doesn't need much user-assistance to keep stable and problem free. This reminds me of this glorious IT-stunt of yours back in 2011, regarding Shogun 2 and blocking that old man's steam via firewall, patronizing the poor chap only due to your paranoid views, because... reasons, I guess. To cut it short: My best guess is, the actual problem is - as usual - in front of the screen. |
