Hey kapitan_zur_see

I got slowed up seeing in the campaign layers because I restarted 2 cariers with the T.M. updates from 1-4 to 1-5 and then to 1-6 so I havn't even seen all the weather patern's in the game for almost a month.

I was praying some of the testers or you would have confirmed it for me seeing I havn't gotten anywhere in the game in ages.

damn... i wonder if we'll find a way to make it work in campaign mode  what a shame if not!!

leovampire 09-06-07 10:35 PM

it's working now Kapitan_zur_see

Sent you all the work for it plus the new mod work to test and look at and see what you think and feel about it.

Your lightning files look great in the game.

The problem was on my end. I didn't match everything up perfectly in all the files and node's for the lightning missed a couple of them. Just too many settings between the materials file and particles file. Truly an example of how much dotting the I's and crossing the T's matters in this game!

Took some time but well worth it and perfect timming for the new mod.

I guess taking a break on things helps from time to time to get a clear head for old work problems.

G'day,

May I ask when will the Lightnings Mod becomes fully operational for the SH4 game, I love the Lightnings affect from SH3.

leovampire 09-07-07 12:53 PM

As soon as Reflection on the Water is released

the lightning will be included in that mod SpeedyPC.

And thanks to Kapitain_zur_see and Captain Cox the new lightning effect's will be 100 times better than orignal work. Much more realistic looking.

And I sent Kapitan_zur_see and Capitan Cox all the files for them as well.

In my never ending quest to make this work anytime and look right

I have found some new stuff to look at and work with. For example found out how to make the lightning fallow the Sub and or camera view around for starters.

And in the night time view's when it is dark make it cause some scarry effect's of lighting up the sub / crew and ocean sea foam in some great effect's like you would see in a horror movie scene with quick flashes of glowing eye's on the crew and they become pitch black then light up like it is day time then back to normal.

Seeing I have found more to work with on it I will continue till I get it working all the time in the layers of the game along with the work on the ROW mod.

I hope to be able to get this out to everyone soon with the search light work I am doing seeing it is all in the same files materials and particles.

Keep going Leo. Please.

Snakeeyes 10-22-07 11:19 AM

I've never seen lightning...

Is there some kind of toggle I am missing that enables the lightning in campaign on LBO?

MONOLITH 10-22-07 12:07 PM

No toggle snakeeyes.

I'm not entirely sure, Leo will know more, but I believe there was some bug/incomplete code that simply didn't allow lightning to display in campaign mode.

So far I believe I've only heard it has been seen in single missions, and I think only after Leo messed with it.

It's being worked on for the next ROW release.
