Vessel was created using Sansal’s Pack3d extractor. It is compatible with any stock or super-modded version of Silent Hunter III but the renown values are based on the GWX supermod. Features a panel for neutrality markings and hull text. May include data files modified by members of the GWX team or Sergbuto (sorry for being ambiguous but the "heritage" of several ships is unclear). Tested using SH3 1.4B.

Manual Installation Instructions:
1)-Extract the contents of the folder Data to your Sh3 main directory. **NOTE: If you are a Merchant Fleet Mod beta tester and have the old T09A installed, let the new install overwrite the existing files. When prompted by Windows to replace existing files click "yes".
2)-IMPORTANT! Open Data\Sea\Englishnames.cfg (or Germannames.cfg depending on your language) and add the following line:
T09A=Tanker 09

JSGME Installation Instructions:
1) Place Arrow_Tanker_v1.0 in your MODS folder and activate it like any other mod.
2)-IMPORTANT! Open Data\Sea\Englishnames.cfg (or Germannames.cfg depending on your language) and add the following line:
T09A=Tanker 09

I recommend that you do not add this ship to other countries' merchant rosters. British and Panamanian versions will be released with the Merchant Fleet Mod. This was a unique design that would look badly out of place in the Norwegian roster, etc.
If there are generic entries for U.S. tankers in your campaign, this vessel has a good chance of showing up at any time during the war. It receives progressively heavier armament over the course of the war – after 1942 it will be too dangerous to engage this vessel on the surface.
You can easily mod it into existing missions/campaign layers but PLEASE back up your files. I am not responsible for any damage incurred as a result of using this mod.
If you are a Merchant Fleet Mod beta tester be sure to copy and paste the new skins into the MFMSkin folder. That way they won't be overwritten by the old T09A skins when you activate the randomizing batch file.
This may not be used in payware mods. If included in freeware mods, please give due credit. I can't respond to PM requests for assistance - please post all questions, comments, and flames on the subsim.com forums.
The tanker was successfully tested for the mast collapse CTD bug. However, modding the ship's DAT file any further can have unpredictable results and might crash your game. Again, I take no responsibility for any changes you decide to make.
Known Problems:
-The engine compartment is amidships, instead of astern. Target the midships section to stop the vessel's engines.
-Because of node constraints most ventilation ducts are dummies. Don't bother shooting at them; all but a few of them are indestructible.
-The reflection from the ship is still the default Liberty Ship reflection. Using a corrected reflection caused severe problems with texturing that are still unresolved.
-Historically the "Dixie Arrow" had her third mast aft of the funnel. This model has it in front of the funnel to avoid the mast-destruction CTD bug.

Medium steam tanker of 8,000-8,400 tons. Based on the "Dixie Arrow", "China Arrow", "Broad Arrow", "Sylvan Arrow", "Java Arrow", "Yankee Arrow", "Standard Arrow", and other US-designed vessels built between World War I and 1922.
The "Dixie Arrow" and her sisters were built for the Socony Vacuum Oil Company. Although intended for mercantile use, some of her sisters served as oilers during WWI and the military operations that followed Germany's surrender in 1918. Several years later they all reverted to civilian service, transporting petroleum products from Texas and Aruba to refineries in the Northeastern US.
Their low speed made them highly vulnerable to submarine attacks. "Dixie Arrow" was torpedoed on March 26, 1942 by U-71 with the loss of 11 lives. Most of the others were also lost during hostilities - "China Arrow" and "India Arrow" were both sunk by U-103 in February 1942. "Sylvan Arrow" and "Broad Arrow" were torpedoed by U-155 and U-124 respectively. "Java Arrow" was heavily damaged by U-333 but returned to service. The few survivors were scrapped after WWII ended due to their advanced age and the availability of modern standardized tankers like the T-2 and T-3. Nationalities operating this class included the U.S. and Panama. Great Britain operated several "half-sisters" that were roughly similar in appearance but larger (9,000-9,600 GRT).
Special thanks to Racerboy for his SH3 eqp tool, as well as Privateer, Sergbuto, AG124, and all other members who have offered assistance in the past.
