SH 4 is geared towards fleet boats , S boat careers can at times be far more difficult/suicidal than should be, does not give a accurate simulation of how things were. This is due to the kind of black and white way the AI operates in SH 4. I changed the capabilities of enemy AI sensors a bit to be tweaked towards hunting S Boats. Basically, the max effective depth of their sonar was changed in addition to some other factors. Max depth still far beyond the crush depth of S boats, so S Boats cant just get away (or should not be able to) by going to X depth, but its also not impossible to lose them as can in fleet boats. Of course S Boat's set of problems are still there for accuracy and to keep things interesting. I originally did these changes to AI for fleetboats, so when in a Balao at 650 feet, AI is not tracking like are in shallow waters lol but found if reduced things much, they become ineffective when sub reaches X depth so scrapped that project.
I have conducted limited testing on this mod, but the little testing that I did provided a still challenging experience in evading depth charges etc but gave the desired experience.
If you use the depth charge disturbance mod, should disable it when using this mod.
Install this mod as a optional mod after all required mods, per the TMO Update BH V2.0 README.
Make sure no mods in enabled after overwrite AI_Sensors.dat
