What is this thing?:
This radio station is a collection of 855 reports from boats to bases
reporting the sinkings of the day in morse code. Each of the 151 boats has a distinct sending speed/frequency.
The reports include the call sign of the base the sub left from, the
boat's call sign, ships sunk, and the captain. In addition to hearing
the report, you will receive a message on the clipboard, including the
boat reporting (by call sign and name), as well as the ships sunk. Read
along and learn morse code. (Part of the reason I made this)
How do I use it?:
You will need to add a section to your radio.ini in the
SH4\Data\Sound\Radio\ folder. I've included a sample "add to radio.ini"
file with the information. Adjust this to a free frequency, rename it,
whatever to make it fit with your stations. Copy the NPM folder, with
the Events subfolder into the SH4\Data\Sound\Radio\ folder, or add it to
a JSGME ready radio mod. Head out on patrol, and listen to your fellow
captains as they report their success.
Notes:
I was unable to find authentic wartime call signs for all the boats.
I've used call signs from post-war boats to fill in USS Grampus (SS-207),
USS Amberjack (SS-219), USS Wahoo (SS-238), and USS Runner (SS-275). There were two boats I couldn't find wartime or post-war information for. These are S-44 (SS-155) and Capelin (SS-289).
