This mod will allow you to cruise with decks awash and at the most fuel economic speed.
It makes the following changes:
1. It will replace the 'Snorkel Depth' (; key) setting for your U-boat to allow you to sail with decks awash.
2. It will replace the speed setting for 'Ahead One Third' (number 2 key) with the most fuel economic setting for your U-boat.
3. It will adjust the periscope depth of the Type IIA and IID to ensure the conning tower remains underwater in rough seas.
Installation:
This mod is fully JSGME ready:
Extract the 'WB's Decks Awash' folder into JSGME MODS and install.
The mod will replace your \Data\Submarine\"U-boat type"\"U-boat type".cfg file (where "U-boat type" is your boat, e.g. NSS_Uboat2A, NSS_Uboat7c etc.). I recommend making a backup of these files before enabling the mod.
Background:
This is another mod that I made to make my life easy. I got annoyed manually setting the depth of my U-boat to allow me to sail decks awash, manually setting the speed of my U-boat to the most economic setting, therefore giving the best range and the conning tower of my Type IIs broaching and giving away my position in rough seas.
Notes:
1. Decks awash is optimised for calm seas. In rough seas it will not work properly as you will both broach and plunge under the water.
2. Fuel economy has nothing to do with the speed indicated on your dials - in calm seas you will have a faster speed than in rough seas but your engine settings will remain at the most fuel economic setting.
3. Ensure that you disable Decks Awash and re-enable Fuel Economy once you equip your U-boat with a schnorkel.
Conflicts:
The only known conflict is with WB's Fuel Economy Mod. As this mod includes Fuel Economy it should be disabled prior to enabling Decks Awash - see Note 3 above.

Thanks to the GWX team for allowing proper cruising with decks awash in their supermod.
