Sorry for my lack of understanding but . . .
I want to run two versions of SH3: one GW and the other WAC. I've read the threads on multi-installs, but am still confused.
I downloaded MultiSH3 and the Readme says to use a clean installation of SH3, patched to 1.4b. Does that mean I have to rollback SH3CMDR, copy the My Documents\SH3 folder to a temp location. Then uninstall the current version (GW and tweaks) and reinstall, patch to 1.4b? Then - as it says in the MultiSH3 readme - create a new installation of SH3 by copying the whole folder and everything underneath it to a new location.
Then:
2. Copy MultiSH3.exe to this new SH3 folder ("Ubisoft\TheGreyWolves" in this example). You do not need to put it into the original game folder, only into the copy
3. Run MultiSH3 from this new folder and change the save folder name to something other than the default "SH3". This folder name can be 1 to 3 characters long (for example, you might use "GW" or "TGW" for The Grey Wolves). The next time you run SH3 it will use the new save folder name. If the folder does not exist then SH3 will create it.
4. Install mods (ie, GW) into the new folder, leaving the stock installation unmodified.
Why does it say to leave the stock installation unmodified? Can't I install WAC on the other one?
Then copy the My Documents\SH3 folder back to the GW version?
Thanks! :)
