Does anyone know how the Mission Editor handles duplicate entries when merging two*.mis files? Does it ignore duplicates, add them both or just overlay one with the other?
TIA

IIRC it adds them both
Its not smart enough to recognise that
Just adds one in front of the other

Thanks. I was hoping that it wouldn't do that, it sure would make life easier.

You can merge them without ticking the savable box
That way you will get an idea of duplicate entries if you need to delete any
Dont forget to back your files up first

Thanks. Are they obvious/flagged or do you have to hunt for them?

I was hoping to merge GW1.1a and the NYGM files to pick up the "Inshore campaign", should have figured that if it was easy someone else would have done it by now,

Ahh I see
Them maybe just compare the 2 layers - see what is needed from the NYGM one for the Inshore campaign and delete the rest
Or vice versa
Yes there will be a lot of duplications I should imagine
It's raining here so I'm bored. Now that I see how, I'm going to try it. I'm going to take every campaign file I can find and merge them. I'll let you know how it goes.....

Well as most of the major mods use the same basic platform I should imagine will be a mess as you will have multiple ships spawning in the same place at same time
Be sure to turn your sound down when you check it out

Excellent idea, now if I can only find a few hours without the dogs or wife bugging me I'd have it made.
