Working AA Guns for the roofs of the harbor subpens.
I got them tweaked and scripted for stock1.4b, GW1.1A, NYGM2.2, and U-Wac1.7. There is a detailed read me with each version for installation. I've tested them and a few others have looked at them with no complaints yet:up:

But UWAC v1.7 is an old version.... do you paned to made the locations file for V1.92 ? Plus there is a new version of UWAC near to be ready....

just a question how is the frame rate in harbor , did it got worse nor not a big change ?

Hansolo told me he hadn't changed the port locations for 1.92 so unless the AA_platform file was radically changed I believe it will work with the newer version. The same goes for the older versions of the Tonnage war mod and GW1.0. If the port locations are the same I think the respective versions will work for them. Maybe someone with more knowledge on how the files interact or has tried it can let me know.
That brings up a side point, everyone should make sure their using the right scripted SCR for the mods their using. when I started scripting these I placed a few on what I thought were Subpens in Wilhemshaven (hadn't played from there in a while) and in game I noticed the guns have a max base height of around 6-8m's---they were hanging in mid air over some buildings (like hovercraft:rotfl: )

(;) for those of you who are planning to tweak them and possibly have them hovering in scripted circles around your harbors---after I viewed the hovering Guns in game at wilhemshaven I had a ctd a little while later while I was sailing away. It was the only ctd I experienced with all of my tests)

In harbor even with them firing I didn't have much of a fps drop but I have a low end system so it might not be the best for testing this. If the port someone is in had four guns placed--It's basically like adding four more ships to your harbor traffic so if you already have your port filled up it could add a strain (although the fps drop for these is no where near that of adding a moving aircraft)
If anyone that has tried these already could chime in and let me know of their fps change--I would appreciate it.

thanks for that great MOD :up:. Clever, to use Type 305 to place AA-guns on the rooftop!!!

Some times ago, i added two types of AA-guns to the LAA_Platform. For heavy AA-platform, you can use the german 105 mm Double - that could be something for your MOD - and the 5 inch Double.

No it wasn't included in GWX.... at least not the GWX I got. It might be planned to add it in the next patch tho, but not sure. Seeing this only affects the Sub pens it shouldn't harm anything in GWX, as far as I can see right now.

I've seen no decrease in frame rates. They are there, but seeing there's no enemy bombers striking Lorient, they're not doing anything. This is Sept of '40 btw.

can't remember the name of it now--but a book I read on the construction of the U-pen bunkers described how light flak emplacements were placed on the bunker roofs. (that gave me the idea to try and make them). The book stated their primary purpose was not too shoot down high numbers of aircraft, but in conjunction with barrage balloons (I can't wait for priater's barrage balloon mod)--too put up enough fire to disrupt succesful bombing runs on the pens.

The subpen guns were included in GWX with Rubini's great fix (he made the mod complete and got rid of the annoying aircraft spotted message as bbw said)---you just won't see them on the map-only in the 3d view screens along with all of the other land units.

As far as fps, I never did record an exact drop percentage--but did not notice any noticible drop when in harbor with the guns as compared to without them-----you will probably have a slight drop if a large flight of planes fly overhead and all of them open up along with the port ships---the drop is probaby a combo of the # of planes and guns/ships firing.


As soon as I get the time i'll be deleting the old version d/l files on the various sites (along with GWX, the other major mod compilations include it with the new fix) . I'll probably script a new (w/rubibi's fix) just stock 1.4b version JSGME compatible for those who like to make their own modded game configerations w/out using the major mods.

Rgr that...yes, I think the fps-drop in harbor will be much worse with planes overhead.
Don't mind that much, as it happens rarely...I never spend much time in base.

Sorry but I must have a different GWX. There were no Subpen AAs at Lorient in mine in Sept of 40. Nor in the other bases with Subpens that I looked at. Unless of course they show at a later date. If that's the case I'll take the mod out. I even have the first GWX update installed.

I did see tho that there were no aircraft spotted mssgs when leaving port.

Odd as they appear on Lorient June 30th 40 - and Brest
They are also at St Naz and Bordeuax
And are there in Kiel from day 1

My appologies on this... AA guns are at the Subpens without using the mod. I deleted the file and rechecked.

Tho when I ran my first patrol out of Lorient they weren't there on any of the rooftops. The date for my first lorient patrol was Sept28.1940. That's the only reason I added the Subpen mod. But for whatever reason they are there now. Sorry guys for saying the mod was needed.
