Newbie/Grey Wolves/No Tonnage Sunk

I am not getting credit for any tonnage sunk. I have not upgraded my boat before first patrol. Have not got past first patrol. My captains log shows ships sunk while I'm in the patrol. Am using SH Commander and Grey Wolves.

Is picking the boat I want when I set up a new career in SH Commander considered "upgrading'??

Also, when is a patrol over, when you get back to dock, or do you have to somehow end it formally ??

From your wording i get the impression your still on patrol. The game logs your sinkings while on patrol, but your career totaly isnt tallied until after you return from patrol.

Ending a patrol you have a couple options. Just hit esc, and "end patrol" (or was it "return to base" ? :roll:) and your instantly teleported to home.

Or you can bring your boat back to .. i think its within 20KM of base and when you hit esc, you'll have the option to "dock at (insert port name here)".

Brining your boat back to base yoursef rewards i think about 100 renown. Nothing to cry over if you don't, but many (myself included) bring their boats back for the satisfiaction of having have done it "right". You dont HAVE to bring the boat back to port unless your playing on 100% realism, at which point if you try and instal teleport to base, it will have the option of "abandon career" instead.

Ya know, that almost sounds like a bug I think. Wasn't there something with the stock game where you weren't supposed to upgrade your boat before your first mission?

Since you're brand new, I'd start a new career (possibly even just delete your current one and reform with the same name) and this time dont' change anything before the first patrol. See how that goes. To save time you could even just start the patrol and immediately ESC / Exit patrol / Dock at Kiel then upgrade?

The bug i think your referring to is acutally a stock bug. Im not sure what causes it, ive only been able to reliablly duplicate it by loading a saved game after starting the first patrol. IE spending 1500 renown for an item, not have the item, and not have the renown you spent on it either. From what i can tell its ok to buy upgrades, so long as you start the patrol immediatly after your done equiping your boat, doing nothing else but start the patrol.

Another possible bug.

It might be you aren't getting credit is because you are ending your patrol too close to the starting point. If you dock in the same spot you left, you'll get a blank patrol.

Dock near the harbor you left, just close by and not so close to the original coordinate.
