Mods don't work

I downloaded the harbor traffic mod, gramophone mod, and realistic damage mod (the one that shows the sailors flying in the air in explosions). Not only do none of them work, but now enemy ships have a tendency to simply stop completely when they spot me. This is no fun, what did I do wrong? I extracted the files into the 'data' folder of my game like they said.

You need JSGME mod enabler. http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html (http://www.users.on.net/%7Ejscones/software/products.html)

You can install everything except SH3 Commander or SH3 Gen with JSGME. And if the mods don't work or you simply don't like them, you just saved yourself from re-installing SH3.
