Hello,

I have recently tested GW mod. I have only began to discover it and it is impressing me more and more. But I have noticed two things that, although, more realistic, I prefer the original way.

The water. I like better the original water, more transparent and clear. How can I roll back it without unsinstalling GW mod?

The other is the music. I liked it. I like also the clock sound depending on position, is wonderful!, but I like also the music that changed depending on action, etc. How can I activate it?

I have searched in these forums, without luck. Excuse me if this is already comment, I have not found it.

YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT'S INSIDE GW???!!!

OK, cooled down a bit.

When you install, there are several options. IF sea graphics are among them, you won't do any harm to the install. If not, we'll then you'll just have to live with it. (Believe, keep GW as it's now, no need to go back to stock).

Music on action! What music depending on action? In vanilla (stock) SH3? Really doubt that. It's changes really well in GW. If you don't like it, there is always the gramophone and on http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/ you can find in the download section even more music for the gramophone and SH3 in general. together with other really important things!

I also liked the translucent water in stock sh3, but this I solved with sh3 commander. You can adjust water opacity in the options. I think 18 is stock.

You can change the music in its configuration file:
SilentHunterIII/data/Sound/Music/music.cfg

GW added mostly ;'s which are easy to change - you can even add GW's music to the original configuration, but I'll paste the contents of the stock music.cfg :). Be sure to make a copy of your current music.cfg first.

hehe I dont see the water much, I,m mostly in the commander room shaking my ass with only my underwear with heart pattern on. :rock:while playing some nice own chosen beats.

bowt time some one realised that you can use this system to play ambient sound effects (crew background chatter.. internal sub ambience etc etc) instead of music....ok so the sounds still play in the external views but hardly the end of the world given the infinite possibilites....it's one of the few truly dynamic features of the game....and far too quickly dismissed as un-important

I have made changes to my music and find that although there are many selections in each category the game isn't random in selecting the tracks, not all of them are played.

I ended up making 4 music.cfg files with different track orders and load them through JSGME to vary the music in game. I am not sure if the game restarts the files in order every time it plays a sequence ( e.g. - each time you start a high tension moment it starts from track 1) or randomly selects from the possible tracks. That could make using the game atmospheric moments as a sound effects trigger a bit tedious. However, the possibilities are there to enhance the immersionwith things other than music.:hmm:

One of the first things I did was throw out all the music, except the menu track. It's stated purpose was to make it more "cinematic", and I didn't want to star in my own movie.

My menu track is the scene from Das Boot where in which they're walking through the sub pens and boarding the boat.

as you say..thing to do here is to be subtle......coughs whispers drips...the faint tuning in of a radio..foot steps....all faintly playing in the back ground.....just atmosphere....there's no limit to the size of the file so it could be an hour long and no ill effects...and it would still change according to the in game situation (how does the game tell?..that's an interesting one) and it's not limited by the old SH2 bug bear of queing up the other normal sound effects...dynamic ambience...who could ask for more!!

I have download and installed SH3Commander, as I am a newbie I have not even begun a carrier, so I still was trying out the academy missions. But I have found that the Clean water options do nothing at all. I have tested several clear water values, no difference, always the dark water of GW. Also I have noticed that when in time compression on the map the movement is sharky, and this is not there when I do not use SH3Commander.

I'm using the version 2.6. Do you have any idea?
