I should like to know how exactly the resupply is facilitated. I have just located the German tramp steamer Corrientes in the Canaries . I should like to top up fuel and torpedoes before continuing South . How precisely is the transfer effected .
Also can you return to the same milk cow several times before returning to base.
Thanks for clarifying this procedure ..

go near it ... exit mission and choose to dock , you will get the renown but you cannot give medals or get stuff for the submarine , you will get a full load of torpedos and fuel.
when you start a new patrol you start near the suply boat or sub, you will get a "NULL" patrol zone, you can go to a supply point all the times you want assuming that the supply is there ( you will get messages with the dates the supplys remain in place )

I think you can hand out medals, because if you don't, you will loose those before you return back to home base. But you cannot upgrade your boat. Also, press F1 to find dates & locations of milkcows(except with War Ace).

Sorry to dig up an old thread here...

Just docked at my first Milkcow.... got my fuel and full load of torps (after harrassing a convoy for 4 days...sinking half of the convoy :D ).

Do you re-enter the mission by clicking on the map in the "office"?

Also... when I docked with the milk cow it was Aug 31 1943. When I click on the map its now OCT 1 :o Thats a LOOOOOONG milkcow resupply! Did I do something wrong? Is there a setting in SH3 commander I need to set just for Milkcow resupplies? I did notice there was a setting in SH3 Commander 2.7 to set lenght in port... so should I set 1 day just for the milk cow manuver? Then reset before I go back to Lorient?

EDIT: I see in SH3 Commander where to set the patrol length....but where do you set the Mission Grid to match your original mission?

Thanks!

If you are using SH3Commander 2.6 it recognises you are at a milkcow and sets days in port to 1 automatically
Not sure about 2.7

Dont forget any damage you have taken will need to be repaired so extra time will be added on for that too

Yes click the map as you normally do to start mission

I've often thought it too bad that there isn't a way to restrict the resupply of torpedoes when you dock at a milch cow. Fuel + maybe a 30/40% of whats needed.

Yes I did mention this last week
Not sure if it can be done - would be a lot more realistic IMHO

You also have a little program named SH3 Patrol that allows you to set the stop time and assign a new grid instead of the "null".

Humm....dont think I will be using milkcows very often unless I can reassign a patrol...dont like not having an objective for the resupply.

I will try and find that SH3 Patrol that Corsair suggested (thanks again Corsair! )

Why not go to your original patrol designation point especially if you had to replenish before you got there on your original patrol because let's say you bumped into a convoy or whatever :hmm:

Heh heh...that is EXACTLY what happened.....a convoy poped up right next to me off the NW coast of Spain... After 4 days and nights of hounding the convoy, nipping at thier heels, I sank a escort carrier, 5 Large Cargo, and 2 Med Cargo

I LOVE TGW 1.1a..... it really makes you feel like your living the book "Iron Coffins" as you have to hit and run (or dive as the case may be), then chase the convoy to get another salvo of fish out of the boat, lather..rinse...repeat. I learned after my first convoy with 1.1a that you NEVER stick around to see your shots hit.

Cant wait for GWX....
