Folks,

Is anybody keeping an eye on the Subwolves mod/expansion for SH3? It can be found at http://www.subwolves.com/phpfus/mFusion/news.php . Its aim is to add a strategic element to the tactical elememt allready in SH3. he team want to produce a game like Rome:Total War, in that you control strategic elements of the game, but can engage in tactical combat. In Subwolves you will have command over where U-boats deploy on a map, and also have control over sub building/training and technology research. If a U-boat makes an interception on the map you have the option of having the combat resolved automatically or if you elect manual combat, SH3 is launched and you play the encounter like a single SH3 mission.
The reason i ask is that the game seems to be suffering a typical mod 'lingering death' in that therre have been no updates recently and the completion date keeps on slipping. I was wondering if any of the geniuses here (GW team stand up and take a bow....simply the most amazing mod i've ever seem for any game) might be able to lend a hand to the subwolves crew?

And on a completely different subject; has anybody modded any Walter U-boats for SH3? Does anybody know if its possible to mod this type of AIP propulsion in SH3?

Rgrds,

This isn't the Seawolves crew is it doing something new? Had to ask, sorry.

If not, it looks nice. Great screenshots too btw. But is a Strategy sim that can be an addon to SHIII what a lot of us really want. Personally I like the FPS concept of SHIII. I might try it as a standalone but Strategy sims aren't my cup of tea. Give me a sim with a good campaign and I'm happy pulling the trigger. ;) If you can change the outcome of the war in Subwolves that might be a nice change of pace with strategy involved. If not, the why make it a strategy sim?

It's a strategy game that lets you play out the combat portions of it using SH3.

I'm glad to hear that iblitz!!!
Its just that the actual subwolves site gives no indication of this.

Thanks

Although I'm on the dev team, I believe Peter will be the only one to answer this question.

Glad as heck to hear that... I hope to have a copy when the time comes.

Our guys are working at flank speed... only stopping here for a quick skim before going back to my part of the machine-shop.

Damn I wish I had time to JUST PLAY sometimes... Meanwhile we try to grab what enjoyment we can while testing.

Iblitz, please offer the Subwolves crew our salute and well-wishes if you would sir. :ping:
