Please could members drop the blue text in the forums, at 71 it is a little difficult to read even with a magnifying glass on the grey background.:damn:

This is caused by people who have set their editing options to maximum, allowing them to paste HTML code as is.

I wish Neal would consider disabling that ability.

A temporary solution is to highlight the text with your mouse. It then usually shows up as white. Still a pain, however.

This is indeed an ongoing problem.

See for some examples the following thread:

The main problem is that once you´ve set a certain text color there´s no direct way to tell the text editor to use the default color instead.

Fortunately there´s an easy workaround. Mark the text whose color you want to change back to default, click # or <>, this wraps CODE or HTML tags around it, then hit Ctrl-Z (Undo). This removes the tags and gives the marked text the default text color.

Problem also exists with limited or minimal options, AL. It would make more sense if Neal would deactivate the different layouts instead and all people only use haylazyblue. Dark text on light background is more eye-friendly to read than the other way around.

That's all very savvy but most of the incidents of this problem I've seen here are simple copies and pastes of articles with their HTML tages retained. Disable this advanced editing functionality and text will be pasted just as text.

Only if the poster intentionally uses HTML but not when it comes to copying and pasting.

The HTML tags are not retained since HTML is not allowed, only the attributes of the HTML text (the editor converts them). The only way to get rid of them is to either use my method or paste the text into Notepad first, then copy it from there into the vb editor window. The advanced editing functionality is a good thing, but people need to learn how to use it correctly.

I have the medium editor setting and the attributes are not copied.

I switched to haylazyblue because I found it better on my eyes.

I just tried the other 2. I don't like the haylazy stuff. The admin blue is not that bad. I may try it for a while, but I think I prefer SmartDark.
