Gday all,
Never was satisfied with the damage textures in game, so, after a time playing with and altering the textures, I stumbles on a unique solution that gives varied and more realistic than stock damage textures.

JSGME enabled

I have included four sets for differing tastes......
...and as a side thought...was wondering if its possible to add this to sh3 commander random files??:hmm: ....hope so....would be good:D

GAME ISSUES
Whist the textures work very well, nothing is perfect in the sh3 world.
As torp textures,they rock(even if i do blow my own trumpet), but as for shell fire, the texture lightens a shade and may be bigger.... still works great and alot better than stock, but these are my observations ... maybe im being a bit pedantic.
Still being neither definitive nor everyones cup of tea, I sure hope your SH3 experience can be enhanced by at least some of this compilation. Suggestions and critique welcome :up: :down:

The underwater damage in particular looks tremendous...but the link won't work for me either :cry:

sorry fellas...links fixed.. lets try again...I dont know why the zips were no good?? All have been changed to .7z

gun texture can go light and bigger....but still looks good...the last two pics are gunfire textures...the rest are torpedo hits

I keep getting "Not a valid archive" message and I've downloaded from all 3 sites listed. Anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions? :damn:

Same here i DL from filefront and when i go to extract it says "No files to extract"
Anyone got any ideas?

Rapidshare sucks for me :down: had a go at the other two and all I got was a empty zip folder from both sites, strange what's going on. :-?

AnzacMick, thank you very much for this nice Mod. By experimenting around, I found that the downloaded file is actually a ".7z" file instead of a "zip" file. You might want to change the download file naming convention, so that others can get to your files in a more direct fashion. Cheers

Knackers. Mick, I just downloaded the file from RapidShare and it comes up as "Invalid Archive file", and empty as all getout. ;)

Yeah, I've got Winzip, Winrar & 7zip. - Can't get a valid download from either site.

Any one have it working that can put it in Winrar or Winzip format and provide a linky?

I use WinRar , and it woked fine for me, I used the Geocities link . I suggest he submit them to UBRS , this way everyone can get it without any probs. I don't know why people use Rapidshare, can only download 1 or 2 things an hour. UBRS, unlimited, don't even need to worry about free user limited access.

So...can anyone answer my question about SH3commander and randomizing these damage textures:hmm:. I would love to know.:D

Also wondering, if anyone is interested in some more textures? They are easily made and i can get out another batch if required.

Awesome torpedo holes ya got there! But i have to ask, How do these damage textures effect computer performance with heavy use?

What i mean is, in some scenarios in a game, high resolution textures really lower frame rate and can bring a computer to its knee's. One situation i can think of, is say your shelling damaged freighter using any of the NYGM damage mods. You can shove as many many shells at such a target, and it doesnt take long to suffer a huge performance hit.

from what i have seen it doesnt:up: no frame hit on GW1.1 anyways for me.

This great mod has had no effect on my frame rates what so ever, i run a quite heavily modded version of gw1.1a and have had no problems what so ever. Thanks for the great mod anzacmick:up: :rock:

Yep, no problems or slowdowns here either. Really makes a difference, seing some substantial damage after one of your fish has hit home.. Thanks anzacmick :up:

Randomizing the textures would work with SH3Comd, but only for each time the game is loaded. The textures within a game session would all be the same...
