Love the supply subs at sea. Make life alot easier! Heres my question though. When my ship is at sea, we refuell and transfer stuff all the time, and never has my ship been alongside a tanker for more than 2 hours.
I "docked" at a supply sub today, sometime in mid April in the game, and when we broke our lines and I returned to the hunt, it was mid May. Now.... I know it took a bit longer to refuel a sub at sea than it does to re-fuel my DDG at sea... isnt this just a weeeeeee bit long, being that we were just off of Newfoundlands Grand Banks which are in a well covered air gap?

Thats because your days in port are set for 28 on the basic.cfg
Either set the days in port to 1 if you know you are going to use resupply - before you start the mission
Or get SH3commander 2.6 which recognises you are at a resupply so sets time in base to 1 day automatically

how do you change the basic.cfg? is there a 28.cfg or something to be found.

It's much easier to use SH3 Commander. It not only automatically changes to 1 day in port when you refuel at sea or in another port besides your own, it also lets you set how many days between missions or even set it for 'Random'. I've been in port for as many as forty days, and I once had a type II kicked back out to sea after only five.
