Hey Neal, modern cameras have a button, if you push it, an automatic flashlight zooms out and lightens the scene. And every picture software has a knob somewhere where you can increase brightness and contrast ;)
I demonstrate.

Captain Litherland in white dinner jacket is congratulated by secret Fleet Admiral of the Navy, Neal Stevens (travelling incognito).
OMG Neal. I'm suprised they let you aboard with that shirt!

Tell me when you have enough of it these bright comments, Neal, and I will darken the picture again ASAP - until then, you have to suffer.

Now for something different, after we analysed his shirt. The expression on his face worries me. He looks intimidated, somehow, or worried. Lost, and lonely. Melancholic, maybe. And somehow out of advise. Was Captain Litherland such a dominant person? Or is it that you never have been photographed before? Were you wndering what that thing is in the hand of the photographer, and if it could hurt you?
Neal, if you have some secret burden to share, or something heavy on your mind, if you need our help, just tell us. We really could talk it over. Endlessly. Promised!
Now I got it - you remind me of our Klinsmann! Eh, your Klinsmann, I mean. Eh, Texas... :hmm: California... :hmm: their Klinsmann, I mean!

It looks like Neal's thinking..."Now how do I charm this guy to get a tour of that sub?"

For a psychoanalyst, those long, phallic symbols on that shirt look like being worth to spend some thought on. And the water, that classical symbol for the unconsciousness, symbolized by the boats that dwell in the middle of nothing - mysterious shirt-selection. I am really concerned now... I wonder what his wife says to that shirt (assuming that his wife still talks to him). You two are still talling, yes...? I am REALLY concerned now...
And I wonder what he is hiding under his cap!

Actually, that is scheduled for Sept 5. My pensive expression is because I am thinking of you guys, and how I wished you could join me. :ping:

Someone should sticky this thread for a week or two. It reminds me of my basic training days in Great Lakes, Il. Our company commander had placed someone in charge of laundry and had them pin up the dirtiest skivvies to a bulletin board, codenamed - "The Streak of the Week" :nope:

I'd love to see the inside of this sub. I'm sure it will be interesting to contrast Virginia SSN to your earlier tour of a 688(I). You did get a tour of an LA boat, if I recall correctly. I know you probably won't be able to take any pictures, but hopefully yo'll give us a general impression of what it's like.

Expect a full report and pictures. I plan to interview the crew, the COB, XO, and Captain (if he has time). I've also been told the president of Electric Boat will have time for me, to discuss co-production process with Newport News.
One thing is for sure, I'll be a lot more careful about my choice of shirt next time. ;)

I don't believe this - other guys who have too much money would go into town and buy themselves another Porsche or a yacht or so, but not Neal - no, for these Texan guys of course it must be something bigger again. :stare:

I enjoyed the time aboard Texas, it was very special for me. The officers and crew were real champs, I was very impressed. I was also glad to get a chance to show Texas and the Virginia class to Subsim readers.:yep:
I got the biggest kick late in the cruise when I came across Petty Officer Granito. He asked, "Who are you with?"
I said, "Subsim.com".
His mouth dropped open. He asked, "what's your name?"
When I said, "Neal Stevens," his eyes lit up :o and he exclaimed "Hi Neal, I'm Ping Jockey!"
Ha ha, it was great meeting a Subsim regular on the embark.

It appears that Neal is out to hunt down his forum regulars. Someone once told me the world was small, but to find someone in this "small" world on a "submarine" means that the world is either VERY small or Neal is a damn good deep sea swimmer.
Nice Mk48ADCAP in the backround too
Gentlemen, perhaps this could be the new cat thread. That shirt is worth bumping at least 100 times or until Neal gives us all a copy of the Combat pack!!

And I oppose the idea of making this the new cat-thread. Wearing shirts like these should not be encouraged.
