After a completed patrol I entered to the pier just normally and finished the patrol. After I exit from the game I opend the Cmdr (2.5) and found myself to be dead. :o

Any ideas, what happened? I have never seen that happen before. I opend the game and the last status was "gefallen" = KIA?!? Boats own base was Kiel but I entered to Wilhelshaven, but I don't think that matters. Major mod I use is NYGM 2.01 + some minor mods. No problems with those before.

It happens to me one time, looking into the patrol log, i sunk the Hospital Ship, may be due a homing torp looking for a juicy target or may be a ship i sunk with my deck gun from long range, it was a red icon but i dont take time to identify it.

I finished the patrol normally, but when attmpt to start a new mission ...."Die", i suffer a martial court and executed for war crimes.

Look into your patrol log if you had sinked the Hospital Ship.

Just a thought.... but did you mistakenly hit the Exit Patrol button and instead of Docking At the Port (the one that you were at) hit the abandon career one?...or is that even a possible selection.... considering you were at the pier?

I haven't had to do it but doesn't the SH3 Commander now allow you to revive a career....I seem to recall reading something along those lines.

He probably docked at the wrong pier ("Donnerwetter, dizz iz not Wilhelmshafen - it'z Ztalingrad!".

Since all enemy ports are full of German/Nazi propaganda posters, it can happen to the best of us.

I base this on Redwines thoughts, the reason I think was that I sunk one neutral norwegian - but he**, it was night and the ship was on the restricted area without a single light! :damn: So, a legal target. :-j

Have to do something for NYGMs settings in this case.
Thank you for your replies, everyone!

Oh ...Oh, that was. You was judged and executed... like me ! May be we are neighbor into the cemetery ! :rotfl:

Be ware at night and with the use of the deck gun at long range with no confirmation, and be ware with the @##$% homing torps, like TV, they not always take the target you want, some times they are captured by another juicy taget, but if it is the hospital ship.... you are done.

Has anybody considered the possiblity that as he walked up the pier he stepped in some oil, slipped and fell, and...

"Famous Kapitan dies in freak accident right after returning from successful mission!"

The game ends before you even get your crew to harbour stations. You missed the part about the flight of British fighter-bombers blasting the port to the Hot Place and sinking the sub. Pity, but that's the way the game works:cry:.
Has anybody considered the possiblity that as he walked up the pier he stepped in some oil, slipped and fell, and...Sounds like a worthwhile ending for U-97: Das Boot 2.

I had that happen to me using SH Commander 2.5 and the cause was that I first clicked "Save" and then clicked "Exit" rather than hitting "Save and Exit." I was able to get the patrol back by loading SHIII without using SH Commander and then "Save and Exit." The next time I loaded using SH Commander, my Kaleun was alive and well again.
