Hi there i need help and help fast. Have been playing the game for a few weeks now but i keep on getting killed shortly after my second patrol, but alas that is not the problem i need help with. Im running sh3 with GW. My computer has a pentium 4 processor 3.00Ghz , 2.00 gb of ram , 180 gb harddrive, 128mb graphics card and a 256mb sound card. The problem is that my game was working great then it started to get jumpy when you were on the bridge and now at all stations with the frame rate jumping from 20fps to 120fps all the time so the game never runs smothly:down: . i have tryed everything i can think of and has not worked. I have uninstalled the game and GW and defagmented the drive and then installed both again but still no luck. :damn:
Any help is greatfully recvied.

Hi...
FPS are a big problem, specially near big convoys and ports. I am using a P4 3,4Ghz, 3GB RAM, ATI X800XT PE 256 Mb and some times FPS droops down at 7 FPS at harbours.
I use it as a convoy detector ! :rotfl: when i am sailing at high time compression and my FPS and TC droops down, and my submarine icon starts to jumps in the map ..... there is a convoy near, then i submerge and use hydrophone to stablish contact.... it is my secret weapon !! :rotfl:
Some tips.
1]
Attempt to eliminate all unnecesary background programs and services.
Use End it All for close background programs, and your WXP control panel for services.
You can use some programs as :
CPrpcess and Securuty Task manager to watch what you have running.
2]
Check you memory, check latency if all your baknks are in concordance. Go to a computer store if needed.
There is a prgram called Latency Tool.
If you have many memory banks, with diferent sizes, install the bigger banks first.
I suffer it, i was using 2 banks of 512Mb, then i installed 2 more banks of 1GB, and FPS droop down at 1/3 !!
Reading the memory manual, it say, if i have smaller banks, i need to uninstall them, then install and run the computer with the bigger banks only, shut down and then install the smaller banks.... it is in the memory manual, then i reover my FPS, they triplicated a new time.
3]
Uninstall SH3, defrag you hard drive and install it over a fresh defragmented hard drive, it always helps a lot.
4]
Sounds.... sounds seems to be a great problem in SH3 and eats FPS, attempt to make a "home made" sound pack, if you are using high quality sounds, just edit them with your Windows XP sound editing tool, and reduce its quality.
5]
Consult for a best FPS driver for you present video card.
6]
Do not attempt to run many missions without reboot, just run one mission and reboot, close all background programs, be sure you are not conected to internet, and close antihackers, firewalls, and antivirus too.
7]
Check you PC activity, in my systems it is in
Panel de Control > Herramientas Administrativas > Rendimiento
I dont know into a english XP but may be
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Performance
There, check you have not any underground activity with the computer at idle
Look my system :
