Please forgive me, I'm sure this has been answered before, but I couldn't find an answer after 20 mins. of searching.

I'm ready to take the plunge and install GW. By "clean install" does that mean a fresh reinstall of SH3 without playing it? Can GW be installed over a SH3 that's already been played significantly? Or do I have to start over and take the tutorials again, start new campaigns, etc. Thanks much!

By clean it means a clean, patched version of SH3. Usually running SH3 once is required to install SH3 Cmdr so I guess running it once before installing GW would be ok. However when I installed SH3 fresh I ran it once before patch, after patch, and then installed GW. You can install SH3 Cmdr after those have been installed. Hope that helps.

P_Funk is correct.

Basically, it means that all you have installed is SH3 plus the v1.4b patch. It doesn't matter how many times you've played SH3 since the installation (but it must be at least once for SH3Cmdr to "kick in"), it just means that you must not have installed any mods.

Don't forget that if you already have an SH3 installation on your hard drive and you're intending to remove it so that you can reinstall it fresh for GW, you must ensure that you delete any residual SH3 files and folders after uninstallation. Failing to do so may cause CTDs or other problems.
