Cant remember what year they carry them - a look thru the museum will tell you - but yes they do carry them in GW

Single ship contacts and Mini convoy's become armed in late 1941, the main convoys become armed early 42.

In game, they start showing up in early 1940, when using NYGM 2.0 anyway.
