I not sure which mod is responsible for this. I am only using NYGM 2.0 and the latest SHIII commander. It is summer of 42, after I attack a convoy the destroyers close in on me, they will lay down a carpet of dc's and after a while I will get hit, only minor damage up foward , nothing serious, at a depth of 160m the damage control team responds and I start to bring the boat up to a new depth of 100m, meanwhile the lights keep flickering on/off. Then just when I think the damage control team has everything under control all hell breaks loose. Men down on deck, 3 compartments are flooding now. I'm at a depth of 90m there was no other series of dc's it just all of a sudden happened. Then I lose the boat. Destroyed by pressure. This never happened before, does anyone know why this is?

That is actually normal...one of the few complaints left in the game.Once one compartment is completely flooded or Hull Integrity hits 0 its instant game over.

As your boat was damaged so was its ability to withstand the pressure of deeper depths. So even though you were at above crush depth you were still taking hull integrity damage due to previous damage. And as stated above once that hits 0 or a compartment floods tottaly its game over.

I understand. I barely had any damage at all, it must jump from 100 to 0 very quick, because there was no flooding at first, and I was on my way towards the surface. All of a sudden major damage broke out. In a situation like that what is best to do? Thanks

Well my first thought is to bend over place head firmly between your knees, pucker up and then kiss your butt goodbye.:rotfl:

Sorry could not resist.

Now seriously what I would do is blow your ballast tanks and try to get to the surface..even though you will probably be destroyed when you surface if the enemy is nearby sometimes you have no choice. Also concentrate on any flooding first and foremost ignore everything else.Get the flooding under control and stopped and get the boat stabalized where it is not sinking any longer. Then worry about the other systems that are damaged.

Now there will be times that no matter how hard you fight you simply will not be able to save the boat.

Not too sure but doesn't lights flickering mean you're taking damage?
