Before in the stock game and all other mods, I could go to 2048 time by just editing my main.cfg. GW does not seem to recognize it, and my max compression remains 1024 even though my main.cfg shows 2048. What am I missing?

[TIME COMPRESSION]
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=64
CriticalDamage=1
CrewEfficiency=1
AirEnemyDetected=1
SoundEffects=2
CharacterAnim=4
EnemyDetected=8
RadioReport=8
Particles=8
PrayState=8
HunterState=32
3DRender=32
Maximum=2048

Those settings in that file are used one time - to create the "used" file in the user directory. "My Documents/SH3/data/cfg/main.cfg"

Thank you. I had no idea there was a duplicate there. Can I change Prey State too to be 32 like Hunter State? I have a very fast PC. Are there any other time compressions that might be good to change? Right now when a message comes in for example, my time drops to One.

If you use 1024 and over for TC you can miss many things that you don't want to while on patrol. TC over 512 will even mess up weather, tho it's your choice.

Thanks Gt182. I know you have to be careful with time compression and its effect on aircraft. I've also found increasing time compression increases damage and makes you easier to detect when you are in contact. I'm thinking though of long Trans-Atlantic trips and passages to the the southern oceans. What might be the bad results of high time compresson during long passages?

You could end up with extremely bad weather a few days out and have it for the complete voyage. I've seen it happen to me using 1024 TC. Not a great thing to have happen especially if you run into a convoy and have heavy rain and fog. Granted they won't see you, a good thing, but you'll have a hell of a time seeing them too. ;) I'm in that mess right now..... not a good thing. Don't get me wrong..... bad weather is good for you but not for the whole patrol.
