Hi guys ! I am refering to the rear rest quarter :rotfl: , well i call it room.
In the sub it is the second room from back to front, is the next to the rear torpedo room.
But in the crew distribution squares, where you place the little men, it is the fourth one, is not in the correct place, may be due to my bad english i sound confuse... :know:
Do you reach to understand me ?
Thanks a lot for interesting ....

Stern Quarters must be between Stern Torpedo Room and Electric Motors Room.
Thanks for interesting...

Hi Redwine,
Do you mean you would like to try and move the crew stern quarters next to the stern torpedo department, the same as they were in real life? I do not know a single thing about making mods but I somehow doubt if this would be possible. Maybe someone with mod experience could answer your query?

I've just seen your new message after posting a reply to your old one and my guess as to what you wish to do was correct. I think in real life there would be a stern crew quarters, near where it is now, for ranking officers. There would also be another set of bunks/quarters for ratings in or about the rear torpedo compartment.

You may be right but I agree with Redwine:yep: . They should correspond to the sub's diagram

I must have misunderstood him. I thought that pic he posted was the way he would like to see things arranged and had altered the diagram accordingly. Are you saying his diagram is actually from the game?

Come to think about it, I think it's in the wrong place on all the subs:nope:

This is the biggest distraction to me when I play with a IX, and one of the biggest reasons I prefer the VII. Yeah, I know I'm weird, but it just seems so sloppy, and I just can't get over it...

To clarify, i think the position for the stern quarter must be in concordance....
In the submarine silhoutte it is second compartement, but below, into the squares where you manage the crew it is the fouth compartement..... it must be moved to the second position as in the submarine silhouette.
It is anopying for me, when i have damage, and see flooding into the second compartement, many times i attempt to put more crew or better crew into the electric motor rooms, (wich is the second below) but the flooding is not into the electric motor room, it is into the stern quarters....
Very anoying....
Thanks all for intersting....

I think you're right and I have never, ever noticed this before; I thought Redwine was just wanting to make a cosmetic change by shifting the bunks into the torpedo room.

Hi again Redwine,
First, my apologies for my complete misunderstanding of the points you were making. I have never noticed this error before, probably because I am fairly new to SH3 and have not encountered much damage so far. It is certainly something I shall watch out for in future. Thanks for the information.

Many thanks Henry, and the problem is me and my bad english !! :rotfl:
It is not a cosmetic change, the erroneus place of the crew management square, where you put the little men, incuce you to make mistakes when you attempt to reinforce the crew at the flooding compartement.
Good if this can be solved.....

If you only played II and VII subs, you have never seen this. The compartments are sane (consistant) on the II and VII, but insane on the IX and XXI? Its been a year since I looked at a XXI so I could be wrong on it.

I have never noticed this error before :hmm: and is a lot confusing
i think that is possible change the name of the compartment, but the number of the crew inside and their funtions is another thing

yeah ive always wondered if it were possible to reposition the rear crew quarters for IX boats. Its one thing that bugs me to, but i kinda learned to overlook it over time.
As for officer or rating bunks being back there - i highly doubt that. From all accounts ive read the aft crew quarters was the WORST place to bunk. primarly because of the heat generated from the motor room. Officer and petty officer bunks were acutally located somwehere forward of the captains nook and soundroom, but aft of the forward crewquarters/torpedo room.
BTW, has anyone ever noticed that on a crash dive, boat interiors all seem to angle the wrong way? I love it when i crash dive and the engine room is angled downward. :88)

Well normally i only play Type IX ... and may be if i am enforced the Type VII but i change it as soon as posible, and i relly hate type II and XXI.

Yes it is from the box.... sadly never fixed.
