Hi, have received the CD, Thank you for doing that. Unfortunately, I can't get passed the Grey Wolves start screen before getting an error message; 'Silent Hunter III has encountered a problem etc. etc.', when I click the data error report, it gives me the following message..
App Name: sh3.exe
App Ver: 1.0.0.1
Mod Name: sh3exe
Mod Ver: 1.0.0.1.
Offset: 0006d88a
It's frustrating  as it looks like it is a great mod ! I'm thinking about posting this along with my Computer stats in general help forum in the hope that somebody can provide me with the solution. What do you think ?

Did you remember to patch the game to 1.4b first?

Hi, no I don't recollect doing that but I am back to square one without Grey Wolves, the only mod I have now have added is 'Frontflotilla'. I have removed SH3 Commander as I was going to try and re-install Grey Wolves then re-install SH3 Commander and see if it works. Is the patch a download ?

AHH-AH, I see what you mean, I've found a download link for this patch; what folder do I download it to ? (and can it be burned to a disc ?).

Yes you need to install the 1.4b patch first

http://www.silent-hunteriii.com/uk/updates.php

before you instal GW

Download it to anywhere - it will look for your installation
Yes can be burnt to a disc

Not to take away from Kpt. Munson's thread but I have a question seeing I've out of the loop for awhile.

GW 1.1a is the update to GW correct? The GW mod Parts 1 thru 7 need to be installed first, then GW1.1a?

Kpt, you might burn all this to a DVD or CD just to be safe in case of a SHIII failure again or a pc/HDD failure. It's happened to me a a few others on occasion. And if you have one available, backup your HDD to an external HDD so everything is safe. I just had a SHIII failure and because I had it, SHIII Commander and SHII folder in My Documents all saved, I just overwrote everything and go it up and running again with all as it was when lost. An external HDD is the best way to go as it will mirror what you already have and can be updated.

No GW1.1A IS GW1.0 plus 1.1 plus the bearing overlay and convoy map fix
You will only need the 1.1A copy you have:up:

Sorted and running with many many thanks to Brewster Pilot, Boris and bigboywooly for help and advice :D But... (I can hear you all groaning..now what ?!) is there anyway to get rid ot the brown strip at the top left of the screen as (for me), it spoils the effect.. a nitpick I know (anyone who has tried living with me will testify that I am a right pain in the a**e !!) Think of the organised, no dust, square guy in 'the odd couple'. The other thing is has anybody tried to add 'Frontflotilla' with 'Grey Wolves' ?; I'm not trying it til I hear it's possible ?. I swear, I won't bitch, ask advice or get on anyones nerves for a while (I hope !)

Have you tried putting your mouse on it and dragging it down ??
Along with the other stuff top left ?

Hi, GT182.. Have taken your advice, backed up the SHIII Folder and placed it into my External Hard Drive. Thanks for that !

Thanks for letting me know about mouse dragging, I dragged it down to the bottom and it looks so much better visually.
The depth charges in GW are awesome ! :D

Shame you cant work it like the periscope/uzo stopwatch (ie click to start it, click again to stop it, click a 3rd time to reset it) but i guess its beyond our current modding ability. Still it is quite handy

Btw there are also a number of pullouts on the map view in the upper left corner (4 i think) also one on the right corner (that one is also available on the tdc screen in the left corner). Plus if you move your mouse to the left just below the stations selection there is a fuel, Compressed air, battery and CO2 gauge popout.

Wooly, thanks, now I can get rid of GW 1 thru 7 and save some room. :D

Kpt. Munson, make sure you save all the folder I mentioned when you get all set up and run a few partols. Make regular backup updates too to be up to date and safe. Nothing worse than losing a bunch of patrols or all your campaign. I have and this is the 3rd restart I'm not going to lose.
