Hi all... i have some diferent mods and they have two kinds of flags for Australian ships.

Wich was the correct flag for cargo ships ? ..... the national flag with blue background, or the other, i soupose the merchan navy flag, with red background... ?

The problem is, if i put the natinal one, merchant will use it, but if i put the merchant navy flag, then the war ships will not have the national flag, instaead they will have the merchant flag....

It is posible to change settings to use both flags ?

And how ?

Thanks in advance.....

I believe the correct World War II flag for Australian warships was the Royal Navy White Ensign, and that the flag for Australian merchant ships was the Australian Red Ensign.

I not note before... did the game use the brithish war ship flag for australian warships too ?

Then.... the australian flag i have into the game is for cargo ships ?

If it is correct, then must i to replace the national australian flag (i have now) by the merchant australian flag with red background ?

Sorry if it sound confuse....

Hi!

The default (V1.4b) SH3 uses the historically correct flags for Australian warships (British warship flag) and merchant ships (Australian Red Ensign, which is the British Red Ensign with Australian stars).

If you want to be historically correct, the Australian flags you are using should look like the default flags. Of course, there's no law that says you have to use historical flags.... :)

@ Pablo :

Many thanks for help, the matter is i have diferent mods, looking for new textures, i note i had installed the national flag (blue background), but the mod i was looking has the merchant red background one. I think so i must to replace the Australian flag in my installation for this last.

My interest is just to have it in concordance with historical flag use.

@ Reece :

Many thanks for help and the links...

Comment :

I note the national and the merchant has the Southern Cross, the small star in the cross has in some case 5 points when the others has 8, and the big star waya of the cross apperas some times with 8 and some times with 6 points.... is this standarized by any reason ?

Does it has any significance ?

Thanks in advance ...
