I have now twice downloaded the mod from the Subsim site. I have done a clean install of SH3 and patched it to 1.4b. Each time I have tried to install the mod I get this message:

c:\programfiles\ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Terra in\data\terraindata.BFD
is corrupt.

I have verfied the byte size of all 5 files. What else to do. I am paying each time to D/L as the mirror site has been quite slow.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Tom,

You have a message. :arrgh!:

By saying "paying each time", are you on dialup?

It sounds like TGW11a-1.bin is corrupt.

Neal assures me that Subsim will be back up shortly, for both The Grey Wolves and NYGM.

You've got a few options:
a) wait and re-d/l TGW11a-1.bin from Subsim;
b) (and this depends on what country you are in) d/l at an "offpeak" time. For example, a few people have commented on slow d/l speeds from the mirror, but everytime I have d/l from there I get MINIMUM 180KB/s speeds. Means I have all files d/l with 60 mins, max.
c) make a donation to Subsim and ask Neal Stevens to send the mod to you on DVD.
d) hope that someone here offers to send it to you on CD, or make it available via BitTorrent.

***BTW I have just d/l all files from the mirror again, and all runs fine.

Thanks for the kind reply. I am on DSL and reverted to donating to Subsim to get access to the mod after being frustateted with D/L time estimates on the mirror measured in hours per file. I donated twice to subsim as I screwed the first download up with a duplicate of one of the bin files (I realize that two of the files have the same byte count-it was a duplicate of one of the others). I will take your advice and be patient. As described the supermod appears to be awesome.
Thanks to all responsible.

Success. Had to re-download 1st and 3rd bin files to get clean versions. Looking forward to actually experiencing the mod now. Departing Lorient at night was certainly attention getting!
